Bluey hexagon sweater for my 5 year old 🩵🧡

The body is just a basic hexagon cardigan, with freehanded granny squares to look like bluey and bingo as pockets. I also added xl buttons so my kiddo can do it up himself. He loves it and I'm pretty proud of how this turned out!

A residents family gifted me her yarn stash after she passed away ❤️

I work at an assisted living home and one of our residents passed away recently, leaving behind a huge yarn stash. Her family initially planned to donate it to a thrift store, but before doing so they remembered that I crochet and asked if I could use any of the yarn. I was able to bring home so much great yarn, I'm so glad that the yarn will go to use instead of most likely ending up in a dumpster outside a goodwill!

The entire upper left side is all cotton, there's a few skeins of wool and bamboo in there and then the lower left side is acrylic.

I'm looking for ideas for a project that I can gift to a friend who gave me his late wife's yarn. He misses her dearly and I thought it would be a nice idea to make him something with the yarn to have in her memory.

For some additional context, we know each other through church (a progressive multifaith church, mostly non Christian) and I met him after his wife passed so I did not know her personally. He is a quite curmudgeonly, but surprisingly sincere older man who is a writer and artist. I don't think he'd want anything wearable, but I'm thinking maybe a small tapestry of some sort? Please share your ideas!
