Just want to complain to people who would understand

EDIT Thank you all for your kind words, advice, and intended generosity. You’re all lovely 💕

If all goes well with my scans in November I’ll be cancer free for five years, which will mean I’ll be officially declared cured. I want to get a charm to commemorate that event, should it happen, and decided I wanted the Love In The Stars charm because it just looks hopeful. I knew it was retiring, but didn’t want to get it ahead of time because that just feels like guaranteeing that my scans show something bad. And now it’s gone 😩

That’s all. I’m just sad about it. I know there might be a scant few left in the actual stores, but this is only August and there would still need to be one available three months from now and I don’t have any confidence at all of that.

Now I can only hope they release something that will be even more fitting to commemorate being cured of cancer.

Irony in my Mystery Grab Bag of Suck but Actually Awesome

I ordered the Mystery Grab Bag of Suck but Actually Awesome and got a Flying Monkey keychain, a Logo mouse pad, a Dissociation Rabbit pen, and…a second Plaid Love Rabbit to go with the Plaid Love Rabbit I just bought two weeks before I bought this grab bag 🤣😭😂😅

Is there any way to make soft textures rougher so I can touch them?

I ordered Plaid Love Bunny to be my buddy while I recover from surgery since he looks like how I feel.

I have texture issues. This super soft stuff that everybody seems to love is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. It makes my teeth hurt and makes my hands feel dirty and dusty for like five minutes afterward. I expected to not be able to touch the chest heart and was prepared to avoid it like the tummies on the new Care Bears.

While I didn’t expect the wooly fur, it’s not horrible Sherpa and not only can I touch it, but I kinda like it.

The problem is the plaid parts. I expected them to be like a flannel or like quilt fabric, something people would use to patch up something torn. Instead, it’s this soft crap I can’t touch.

Does anybody know of a way to roughen this kind of fabric up so I can cuddle my buddy? All of my Google searches come up with results for keeping things soft or making them soft after they get rough and none of the results give instructions on how to do the opposite.

I’m desperate. Halp!

I (45f) had surgery yesterday. It turns out it wasn’t a pilonidal cyst but something “cyst-like” that the surgeon couldn’t identify and has sent off to be analyzed.

Anyway, he sent me home with a packed open wound, which is apparently a common way to send us home.

My instructions are to sit in the bath today and let the dressing soften and remove it and replace it with gauze 4x4s and I have questions. Do I wait for it to let go on its own, or do I pull it off? Is the packing included in “dressing” or is it just the outer covering? If the packing is supposed to be removed, do I put the 4x4s in where that is, or just stuff it between my butt cheeks?

I don’t know what I expected, but it wasn’t going through six pairs of underwear and having to put puppy pads on the bed. There was so much blood, I had my husband call the doctor, and he said it was fine. I’m terrified of making the bleeding start again by pulling off the wrong thing or pulling off the right thing the wrong way.

EDIT to add: I had two, one on the left and one on the right. The one on the right was about the size of a grape and the one on the left was about the size of an egg and it currently feels like a baseball is in there now. If that gives an idea of wound size and if that matters. Also, the surgeon did say he put a few sutures in the ends of the incisions nearest the anus.

EDITed more for spelling
