Ok so I've had a bit of time to put in some rounds through this upper, on a random ass glock 80% lower.
I have been able to put about 600 rounds down range without any stoppages of malfunctions. With my qualifier statement out of the way, let's get to the positives.
As a whole, the accuracy is just as good as I am, if not better. It seems to hold a grouping of 2-2.5 inches at about 15yds. As for ammo, I've fed it every thing from shitty Al Blazer to hand loaded 147gr subs, with and without a can (10" oal 8 baffles non-flow through), it absolutely does not like the cheap shit, but will still eat it and cycle reliably.
As for overall size of the platform, it couldn't be better. Fits, when folded, comfortably in a standard laptop size backpack.
Now for the negatives I've found. On the subject of the physical product alone, there are very few negatives to be listed.
The ezts kind of sucks, as implemented. The 3d printed parts are prone to breaking, the exposed portion of the ezts is susceptible to being pushed in, which could cause the retaining plate to drop, leading to malfunction and damage to the upper. I get the idea behind it, but a lockout of some sort should be added (if I've not just ignored the fact that there is one already, idk hopefully someone from Matador can correct me if I'm wrong). I get why this was done, mfg is way easier for 3d printing on something like this than trying to program subtractive cad. That said, it works.
Fit and finish of the upper itself is.. Alright .. Id have liked to see a bit more attention to machined edges, maybe a pass through a deburring tumbler post machining to break the sharp edges, but I'm picking nits.
As for my experience with MatadorArms as a company.
Communication as a whole is spotty at best, and almost nonexistent at very worst.
Shipping times are absolutely a problem, from a customer point of view. I get that there's been a LOT of supply issues around this, but better can be done, 90% of which comes down to transparency and communication. (see above.)
Tldr; Decent product, just remember the company is experiencing supply chain issues, and this product suffers from scope creep bad, it went from simple blowback to roller delayed blowback, then the super safety and frts came into the picture with the hydraulic buffer system and those are a new, separate systems that have their own teething issues and roadblocks. And this all happened in the last couple of years, on top of other developments along side this, and supply issues that would cripple any business that isn't 100% in house and even a few that are.
This is a general question for Matador and co. How much longer is the wait for the trip sleds that were supposed to be shipping by now?
2001 sr5. Got water infiltration on the passenger side floorboard (wet carpet at the door) after a recent rain, where do I start looking to for the source of the leak? Vehicle was parked before, during and after the rain.
