Vardagen’s maiden run: pancakes

Not bad. I already have a dedicated pancake pan (pancakes were my whole reason for looking at carbon steel in the first place). Still, I thought pancakes would be a good test for my newly seasoned Vardagen. No question the metal spatula was essential, and I cook pancakes in avocado oil (don’t ask, I like it, ok?), which also helps. I’m pleased with the results though.

Fresh off the boat from China (literally)

It took a month on a ship, but I had to have it after seeing it posted here. It was so expensive though. I don’t see myself spending that much on a puzzle again.

Unexpected notification from 2nd iPhone (Series 9)

I have an iPhone 11 (work) and an iPhone 15 (personal). Last night I forgot my personal phone at work, and this is the only phone I ever paired with my watch. So imagine my surprise this morning when heading to work, my watch buzzes me with an email notification ... FROM MY WORK PHONE! It seemed to have paired with my work phone automatically. I've never paired the work phone with the watch, the watch isn't even on my list of bluetooth devices on the work phone, but it is on the same account as my personal phone. My personal phone was literally miles away at the time, and I feel like I'm losing my mind here wondering if I was hallucinating.

Does anyone have any insight into changes Apple made recently to allow this to happen. When I first got my iPhone 15 and Apple watch, everything I found online suggested that switching the watch between phones would be complicated and not worth the hassle.
