Hall effect matrix?

Has anybody got notes on deploying hall effect sensors in a matrix to monitor magnetic keys that don't line up 1:1 with sensors? I figure something like the flux change in the 3 closest sensors to a key could be used to identify a key without dedicating a sensor to every key.

I figure the "Flux Keyboard" is likely doing this, but I haven't found anything on the general market. In my insanity, I'm considering taking a buckling spring chassis or similar, replacing all the springs with opposing magnets for levitation, and then measuring flux changes to determine key presses.

What would have been the Confederate States "win condition" in the American Civil War?

I get the textbook answer, "they wanted to secede". But that goal wouldn't resolve primary grievances:

  1. Can't imagine that, following a successful secession, the remaining US would suddenly feel obligated to better meet obligations under the fugitive slave act.
  2. The idea the US would cede western territory to the Confederacy seems unlikely, thus you don't get an expanding slave market.

Both the wrong subreddit and yet probably the best place for this.

I've been interested in a reduced-eyestrain monitor, but for full interactivity. Given the rather steep price of the larger Dasung and Boox 25 inch displays along with limited features, I'm toying with a desk setup with a high-resolution projector.

A bit of casual googling didn't turn up anything, thought I'd ask if anyone else has seen a decent setup. I'm imagining something vaguely like a classic microfilm reader, but delivering a 4k projection onto a relatively small high-contrast projection surface.
