Flight EMS: Downed/Unresponsive Pilot or Loss of Communications with Pilot Policy/Procedures.

Hello all. My agency recently had an incident where two flight crew members lost communication with the pilot via radio, isolation override, cellular communication as well as yelling and banging on the interior of the fuselage. It took reaching through and slapping the pilots head to arouse him. I believe he fell asleep. The concern was that we don’t have a set guideline on how to respond to such an incident as we are single pilot AW139 rated without access to cockpit.

Does anyone working in the agency have Downed pilot or loss of communication policies/procedures they’d be willing to share. I’d like to present information to aviation side of program to get official documented procedures in place. Thank you.

NUNM Classroom Experience

Hello all! Looking into ND program at NUNM. I would be moving from Florida and would be super excited to attend! I was wondering what the classroom setting is like and how student to student interactions are. I did shadow one school where the professor went off on a tangent for 10 minutes on political topics without relating to class lecture material, and was wondering if political beliefs often are used to supplement material here due to the progressive nature of Portland.

TL:DR— I’m from Florida and have conservative beliefs and don’t want to deal with unprofessional belief incorporation into lecture. What expectations should I set for myself. Lol

Sonoran University, ND funding.

Hello all!

My close friend is looking into attending Sonoran University to pursue her ND over 3 years. She’s currently looking at funding options through Scholarship Owl, Unigo, In-house scholarships provided by Sonoran and whatever else we can find.

I’m looking for any advice or guidance from individuals who are currently in attendance or have attended and what options you pursued for funding. Any tips yall found that may help lighten the financial burden are greatly appreciated.

I’ve seen the “Not worth it” and “scam” responses so please refrain if those types of answers are all thats offered. She’s very passionate about this field and I hope to get some good info to pass along. Thank you!

CPAT Recovery assessment?

Hey yall. Taking the cpat tor the first time in a month and someone mentioned there was a recovery assessment after completion. Your HR has to drop X points in X amount of time? Is that an assessment post test? If so, what is the criteria?

Heard this from a friend but can’t seem to confirm via internet.

Thanks for any help!

Flight Medicine Question: What makes a cardiac monitor “flight rated”?

Our program is currently transitioning over from the Tempus Pro to the Zoll Zenix, foregoing the Lifepak 35 which are being utilized by our departments ground unit. I haven’t been able to find clear guidelines on what makes a monitor flight rated or not and was wondering if someone here could help explain. I don’t quite have a good understanding of it yet. Thanks

Has anyone experienced mild congestion or runny nose since starting Reta. I came down with flu symptoms around the same time I started and have had residual issues for about 5.5 weeks. Trying to see if there is a correlation or just residual effect after being sick and just bad timing.
