While there is much discussion about the fringes of world cup squad selection, the XI has largely been penciled in:

- Balo
- Puli Malik Weston
- Adams CM
- Jedi LCB Richards Dest

Johnny’s performance last window + his Atleti form these past 2 months had made him a likely choice to start next to Adams. If he’s not fit to do so, who stands to benefit?

in my opinion there are a few options:

  1. Slide Weston down to CM, insert another attacker/winger like Weah
  2. Slide Weston down to CM, slide Dest up, insert Freeman at RB given his recent Villarreal form
  3. Insert Tessman or other CM next to Adams

also this makes our CM depth questionable: Adams, Tess, Berhalter, Roldan? does Musah get another look?

what do y’all think? what would y’all prefer? do those answers differ?
