DocuPotion: new(ish) way to generate documents in Airtable

Hi all. I’m Alex, the founder of DocuPotion.

We’ve had an Airtable integration for ~8 months, but I recently re-built it from scratch so thought it was time to properly introduce it to the Airtable community.

What is DocuPotion?

DocuPotion makes it easy to generate polished PDF documents from your Airtable data.

  1. Create a reusable template with {{merge_fields}}
  2. Map the template fields to your Airtable data
  3. Generate PDFs of the template via a Generation Link or as part of an Airtable Automation

Here’s a video explaining how it works with Airtable: https://youtu.be/4hGTRabM3bs

There are a lot of Airtable PDF tools. What makes you different?

A fair question. DocuPotion works in a similar way to a lot of the other Airtable template → PDF tools, but I’d highlight two main differentiators:

Hopefully some people will find it interesting / useful. If you have any questions do let me know - always happy to help where I can.

Build PDF template with AI. Map Airtable data. Generate with click of a button.

Recently updated DocuPotion's Airtable integration. Here's a 1-min video showing how you can:

  • Build an invoice template with our AI-powered editor
  • Map your Airtable data to {{template fields}}
  • Generate PDFs from Airtable using a Generation Link

You can also automatically generate PDFs in an Airtable Automation.

PS - I have rotated my API key after recording this video!

Convert Typeform (or other form) responses to PDFs

Put together this video tutorial on converting Typeform responses to PDFs in Zapier with DocuPotion.

I use Typeform in the video, but the same approach can be applied to any form app (Google Forms, Jotform etc.)

Hope it's useful and happy to help if there are any questions!

How to automatically fill PDF forms in Zapier

Hi all, just released a new video tutorial that may be of interest to some people.

I show how to automatically fill out PDF forms in Zapier with DocuPotion, using data from a Google Form submission.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFvrMouxTXU

Disclaimer: I'm the founder of DocuPotion

How it works at a high level:

- Take an existing fillable PDF and turn it into a reusable template in DocuPotion
- Ensure fillable inputs are named correctly
- Map data from a Zapier trigger / action to the {{merge_fields}} in the template using the DocuPotion Zapier app

That's pretty much it. I use Google Forms in the video, but you can use any other data source too (EG Airtable, Google Sheets Typeform, Tally, Hubspot, Notion)

Happy to help if anyone has any questions!

A new way of creating custom PDFs from Tally form submissions (video)

Hi there! You may be aware that the excellent Tally team has recently released an export to PDF feature (check out the video here if you haven't seen it).

This is really useful, but just wanted to mention another option for creating PDFs from Tally form submissions if you want some additional control over the format / styling of your PDF.

DocuPotion is a tool I created that allows you to create PDFs from reusable templates: https://docupotion.com/

You can use it with Zapier or n8n to automatically create custom PDFs when a Tally form is submitted (Make.com integration coming soon).

I recently put together a video on creating a customer feedback report PDF (using this Tally template) that I thought might be useful to some people: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqMLjRNsFP4

Always happy to help.

New way to generate PDFs in Zaps

Hi all, I just wanted to drop a quick note to let you know about a new way of generating PDF documents in Zaps: https://docupotion.com/zapier-integration/

DocuPotion is a tool I released two years ago, but I recently released our Zapier app: https://zapier.com/apps/docupotion/integrations

How it works:
- Create a document template in DocuPotion with {{merge_fields}}
- Map data in your Zap to the template
- Get a nicely formatted PDF document returned

Why it's different to other Zapier document apps
The big differentiator is our document editor. You can choose from a bunch of pre-built templates, but you can also create a custom template from scratch with our AI generator. You can get some really nicely-formatted custom reports from a few lines of prompting. You don't have to spend hours dragging and dropping components to get that perfect-looking template.

For those interested, this video gives an overview of how to use DocuPotion in Zapier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqMLjRNsFP4

Happy to help!
