Fight properly assessment?

I just got my assessment and it went up $54k in one year, which is almost 20%. Has anyone ever successfully fought an assessment and if so, how much did it save you?

Construction is crazy!

Did all of this construction really NEED to happen at the same time?! Living on the east side is such a pain especially with Highway N closure. Why did they need to replace the crosswalks?

The Zimmern-Seaver Seafood Soirée was meh at best

My wife and I gifted each other tickets to last night’s Zimmern-Seaver Seafood Soirée at Seven Acre Dairy in Paoli for our anniversary. The food was good, not great, but the lines were long. Usually the dinners there are served inside in the dining room and served family style. They wanted to get more people there to capitalize on Andrew Zimmern’s name. They were successful at that. There were stations set up on the grounds where you stood in a line to get a small sample. They ran out of some items and while the food was good, there is no way to serve the quality of food I have experienced there before with other chefs. Zimmern was very friendly and did his best to make the rounds, greet people, take photos and answer questions. Overall the experience was okay but not as good as the other ones I have had there.

14 & 15 year old students driving to school

I teach in a mid-size urban community with a large immigrant population and the number of my freshmen I see driving to/from school by themselves or with friends is scary. I have asked them if they know what will happen if they get into a collision and they usually say their parents are cool with it. Absolutely nuts!

Edit: This is not legal where I live.
