modified LEGO boba fett statue (lore accurate)
felt like something was just a tiny bit off with the new LEGO boba fett statue (75455) but with this MOC/mod, i've tried to fix that.

i recently posted a pair of new balance 574s that have been sitting in my closet for years. i followed the vinted guidelines, posting multiple clear pictures of the shoes along with the soles and tag clearly showing serial number, size, etc. to my surprise, the post was almost immediately deleted by vinted bc their systems auto detected that the shoes may be counterfeit. i am a very casual amateur seller (i set up the account for my daughter to sell jewelry she makes and otherwise to sell stuff that would probably just get donated). so i don’t really care about “losing” a potential $25-30 sale of used shoes. but out of curiosity and on principle i appealed. i got a quick message saying that it is taking up to five days to handle appeals. no matter. i uploaded screenshots of my order and delivery confirmation emails. i bought the shoes directly from new balance dot com in 2018 so i don't have boxes but i am one of those weird ppl who keeps those kinds of emails. vinted responded quickly saying they need additional photos where they largely just regurgitated posting guidelines. so later that day i took a bunch of new photos at a bunch of angles, showing clearly the tags for both shoes, all logos, etc. to my surprise, vinted responded within a couple of hours (late on a Friday night) with a generic response saying that they don’t allow counterfeit items and that repeated violations can result in suspension, ban, etc. and the case was closed and conversation ended. they said if i still want to dispute it review the TOC.
in their response they said "Please be assured that we manually reviewed your case before making this decision, taking into account your appeal, the listing information, and other relevant details." given how quickly they responded, how generic the responses were, and the late-night-on-friday timing, i can't imagine there was any *actual* manual review.
i'm curious if anyone has ever had success appealing an auto-removal by vinted. i've got a sneaking suspicion that vinted's appeal process for auto-removals by vinted is largely an illusory process. i imagine it's different when someone else reports a post since that is a dispute between two vinted users. i just can't imagine what more i could've done to prove that these are real shoes lol. (i've uploaded some of the photos i submitted to vinted in my appeal).
Do we know exactly how Bricklink decides to describe new minifigures now that LEGO has acquired it?
I first thought about this when the smart brick sets came out because initially on Bricklink the descriptions included the ™ symbol. E.g., the Obi-Wan fig was described as "Obi-Wan Kenobi™ - SMART Play™." I've noticed that they have since changed it to simply "Obi-Wan Kenobi - SMART Minifigure."
Thought about it again this morning because the new Barro figure is listed on Bricklink as "Imperial Remnant Warlord." I'm assuming that is just a placeholder for now since that's the description of the fig on the official LEGO box for the set (and I presume they used the generic description on the set since it went into production before the movie was released and the character may not have even had a name at that point).
Maybe I've answered my own question and what we see on Bricklink is simply defaulting to the LEGO description and then when completing inventory, etc. they update it.
This is not important for almost anyone but weirdos like me who maintain a spreadsheet of SW minifigs I own, which combines three of my loves - minifigs, Star Wars, and making stupid spreadsheets. If I die before my wife, when she sees in our estate planning documents a reference to a spreadsheet of my SW minifigs on my computer, she will both be glad I am dead and that she has a reference for the value of my figs when she goes to sell them.
just got a new 2026 I5 limited (AWD). i know a lot of folks here don't like the black, and i get that the dirt/dust show, but i think the black is just so sleek (and maybe this is silly, but the black makes the red rock delicate arch utah license plate really pop).
i've been incredibly happy with the I5 so far. mind you, i've never really been a "car guy" (this replaced a very old forester), but this thing is just an absolute blast. honestly the biggest problem, i have is that when my wife drives it, i drive our minivan. i used to think the minivan was a relatively smooth ride, but after driving the I5 i literally feel like i'm driving a u-haul when i take the minivan anywhere.
anyway, as i was loading a paddle board in the back, a paddle tucked inside of it came lose and scratched the lower body molding. being a not-car-guy i've always shrugged my shoulders at dents and scratches (they add character!) and i will 100% get there with the I5 eventually, but seeing as how it is brand new, i was wondering if anyone knew whether the scratch can be touched up easily. if it involves completely repainting that lower molding, then i have no interest (character!) but if it's an easy fix, I'll do it.
thanks in advance for any help. it's a true joy seeing everyone else's positive experiences with their I5s (and as for the negative experiences, i'll just use my cognitive dissonance and assume mine is immune to the problems that others have had for now!)
"But I would like to try."
Maybe the single most heartbreaking line ever uttered in video game history. I designed and built this LEGO vignette using custom printed minifigures I bought several years ago.
The Plagueis figure and book and the 2x6 quote plate are custom pieces/prints. So many MOCs are elaborate and incredible. While I wish I could do those, if you're strapped for time and brick resources, these little dioramas and vignettes are fun to make!
I am on a Mac (Sequoia 15.6.1) and after the 16.109 Word update a couple days ago the compare function stopped working. When I try to compare two documents all Word docs are now grayed out. Is this a known issue and is there a workaround? Note that nothing has changed other than the Word update - before I had no issue comparing Word docs.
