So i was on the deathbattle sub and i see this edit which was about a mini comic about Goku vs Saitama which was pretty cool all things considered … then i see this shit and I since i have nothing to do i just gotta ask … how fucking fast would THIS speed feat be ?

The presented arguments :

- More consistency on ghosts being higher dimensional as E-Gadd describes them as beings who defy the laws of science and their research led him to discover a new dimension and Mario dying by bullet bills is described as being blasted off the normal plane of existence.

- Matter Splatter consistency on being an higher dimension as it’s influence spreads beyond one galaxy and is called not only a different dimension but also a “spatial challange” and transdimensional

- Dreams in Mario can exist on multiple dimensions of existence both lower and higher and the underwhere is called a “nightmarish realm beyond imagination”

- More consistency with Flipside being said to be in-between the tapestry of dimensions, inside a dimensional gap, an higher dimension and that to reach the worlds outside of it you need to channel the dimensional flow and find their dimensionality

- The real form of music is a transcendent force of math and feeling that transcends spirits as well.

Honestly i’d say all arguments are good except maybe the underwhere one.

I’m gonna be honest … I think finite speed specifically Mario is faster.

Base Mario alone is over 35 quintillion times FTL via feats like the green comet and orbulon spaceship psychic waves and the he can get around over 9 sextillion times FTL thanks to the pure hearts reversing the void expansion … not to mention all the multipliers that can get stacked on top of if which are bare minimum in the thousands thanks to power stars meanwhile i got base Sonic ranging from 4.838 to 96.76 quadrillion times FTL via Void crossing the 4th dimension space and boosts should make him at least 8 times faster so 38.504 to 770.08 quadrillion times FTL … add the fact Super should be faster than this and then add the same multiplier again and it comes out to 308.032 quadrillion to 6.16 quintillion times FTL then add the blue power core which duobles his speed and he reaches speeds equal to 616.064 quadrillion to 12.32 quintillion times FTL … and if you want to say that just a single chaos emerald is better than the boost and then multiply that for 7 that would make Sonic best possible speed 4.312 to 86.24 quintillion times FTL which is insane and could get higher if i missed something but i still don’t think it’s enough to make him faster than Mario.

And before anyone ask no i don’t buy time eater and Solaris destroying the universe cause those are AP feats not speed feats and i don’t buy the paradox prism one either cause Shadow used Chaos Control before the explosion got triggered (and the last episode proves how Shadow wanted to teleport the prism outside the universe but failed before it activated and even if counted it wouldn’t be a base Shadow feat either way), the best feat I could maybe buy is black doom spreading his influence over white space that has been calculated to 4.1 quintillion times FTL which would be Sonic new base speed and then add all his multipliers and he reaches 524.8 quintillion times FTL (3.673 sextillion times FTL if the last 7x multiplier is accounted) but i don’t fully buy it because this one has never been used in an offensive way and the characters didn’t acknowledge it like it didn’t reach them but i could be committing appeal to incredulity … still i think Mario is still faster even if but it’s definitely way closer now.

My opinion :

Lowballed : Sextillions to Octillions of times FTL (3.92 to 268 Quintillions of times FTL base speed via Green Comet scaling + all the power stars (1773 at least), grand stars (13 at least), crystal stars and other artifacts multipliers stacking)

Midballed : Infinite speed (Via many MFTL+ speed feats becoming infinite speed feats since the universe in Mario is infinite, multiple feats where Mario and multiple forces/artifacts move/exist beyond linear space and the pure hearts being an infinite multiplier)

“Highballed” : Inaccessibile to immeasurable speed (Via many feats where similar characters move without the necessity of time, many forces/artifacts allow beyond linear time movement/existence and many characters feats that go beyond linear space and time)

The power stars are recurring artifacts in the Mario series known for giving extreme amounts of power to their protagonist but … how much do they do it ? And does it apply only to strength ? Let’s find out.

Do the power stars amplify both speed and strength of the user ?

I would say that yes they do, not only the power stars are used to power a lot of flying vehicles throughout the series like the comet observatory and starship Mario but they also allowed to reach places normally inaccessible to others like the galaxies in Mario Galaxy 1 or the worlds in Mario Galaxy 2 and for last they have been used to give characters the capability to fly like when Mario got a wings cap after defeating Bowser for good to return to Peach’s Castle and when Bowser could fly much faster than normal when he gained the power of power stars/grand stars. (Plus there’s also to mention the stars flying characters around with their attraction in both galaxy and party games).

Now that we answered this question.

How big is the multiplier of the power stars ?

We know for sure it’s AT LEAST 10 times a character normal base as in Mario Party 2 was unable to lift a metallic form of Bowser that weight 10 times more than normal however when said character was given a power star they were able to easily lift Bowser and launch him into the air, what makes it more than obvious than this goes above the 10 times multiplier is the fact in how casually the feat was done as the the metallic Bowser was literally launched into space and crushed so hard he lost the form meanwhile before the boost the characters could barely move him.
But how much bigger is the multiplier and how can we prove it ? Well that’s simple … power stars are evolved versions of lumas and one the final forms of star power/star essence … when lumas die they scatter across the cosmos and give their essence to all new life (a consistent trait to how star power works in Mario and gives power to pretty much anything in the universe) meaning anything that is powered by star power which would be pretty much everything and their multiplier would translate to that of the power stars. And this how I got two examples to get power stars higher … the sun cats and the royal stickers … according to odyssey power stars can take different shapes like power moons or other similar artifacts and the sun cats might be one of those type of artifacts other than star essence connection and to defeat fury bowser (the game the sun cats appear in) where needed over 100 sun cats and the giga bell which was stronger than them … even if we say a single sun cat was a 1x multiplier adding all 100 would make it a 100x multiplier, the giga bell is stronger than all sun cats and both are powered by star essence and so the power stars would be at least a 100x multiplier but here’s another argument … in paper mario sticker star during the final battle Kersti allows Mario to use her sticker that is 1000 times stronger than a normal one and this can be used as royal stickers come from a wishing star, the paper mario universe makes it important how much stars are important for the mario universe but also the paper mario universe is parallel to the main one.

So yeah in conclusion the power stars are at least to a 10x multiplier but it can range even to 100 to 1000 (and I think this is the most believable one honestly) and can boost both a user strength and speed … and remember, a grand star is at least 59 to 236 times stronger than them as you will see in my other post linked down below.

That’s right you read that well, I have proof that the grand stars are at least over 50 times stronger than a normal power star and I have 3 examples that substain my claim :

1. As showcased in Mario Galaxy 2 to reach other worlds we have to open gates in the fabric of space-time itself … however the only way to do this is using the grand stars as normal power stars no matter how many you stack on top of themselves are incapable to do this on their own (at least until a certain number is reached) meaning that you could collect as many power stars as you wanted in a certain world and never reach the other world without the grand star meaning a single grand star is more powerful than a certain amount of power stars (at least 35 as shown in the second image or if you wanted to count all 242 power stars took the 6 grand stars out and devide them by world it would come out as 39+ power stars for a single grand star or just count all the power stars for a single grand star that would make a single grand star worth 236 power stars)

2. In Mario galaxy 1 a certain number of power stars and grand stars are needed to charge the comet observatory to reach the center of the universe and as we know only grand stars can awaken a new part of the comet observatory meanwhile no matter how many power stars you add to comet observatory the central nucleus remains unchanged so 1 grand star is more powerful than a huge amount of power stars put together (This number as seen with the third image can reach up to 59 power stars or if we gonna by every power star in the game which is 121 and took the 7 grand stars that would make a single grand star worth 114 power stars)

3. In Mario party 7 the final attack against Bowser and Koopa Kid in Bowser’s lovely lift is a star composed of a certain number number of smaller stars (29 from what I counted) the main argument here is that that wasn’t a normal power star but neither was a grand star as seen that a certain number of power stars was enough to form a grand star but only something weaker than it. (I will admit that this argument is the weakest here and probably those stars were actually summoned than forming the bigger one but it was at least worth mentioning it)

So yeah the grand star is a at least more than 50 times more powerful than a normal power star (In my opinion at least 59 to 236 times more powerful)
