This is Shichifukutei Ramen in Fukuoka.
It’s an old-school local ramen shop, and there’s usually a line around lunchtime.
The broth is rich and porky, but not as heavy as it looks. And the chashu basically covers the whole bowl 😂
Not a fancy place at all, just a good local bowl of tonkotsu ramen.

Just sharing this for anyone visiting Fukuoka in October!
There’s going to be a riverside festival along the Hakata River from October 9–17.
They’ll have lanterns and bamboo lights along the river, local Hakata food stalls, live performances and some traditional Japanese festival stuff as well.
It’s around the Nakasu/Kawabata area, so it’s pretty easy to stop by if you’re already exploring central Fukuoka.
Entry is free and you don’t need a reservation.

Went for a drive around Aso and stopped by Daikanbo, had Akaushi beef for lunch, then headed over to Nabegataki Falls.
Nabegataki was probably my favorite stop. But You can't actually walk behind the waterfall, because of late earthquake.
Even so, It was pretty good.
If you’re driving around Aso, it’s worth adding to your trip.

The line started forming before the restaurant even opened, so I figured there had to be a reason.
This lunch-only shrimp tempura bowl is served at a small seafood restaurant hidden inside a shopping arcade in Fukuoka.
The shrimp was light and crispy rather than greasy, and the sweet soy-based sauce soaked into the rice underneath without making the tempura soggy.
Simple, satisfying, and exactly the kind of local meal I love finding in Kyushu.
It felt more like a place locals enjoy every week than a restaurant made for tourists✨
Found this place called "Moritaya" in Fukuoka.
This A5 Wagyu beef hitsumabushi is limited to just 50 servings per day, so people start lining up the before the open restaurant opens.
The beef was tender and flavorful, and the best part was changing the way you eat it thoroughout the meal.
For less than ¥3000, it felt like a pretty good deal !!
