Trying to stop - hardened skin

Hello all,

Dermatillomania is something that I’ve been dealing with since I was a small child, but I’ve decided to stop for health reasons (which is hard, because I do enjoy the satisfaction of picking). I’ve been making small improvements every day and I do see myself getting better but every now and again, my hand absentmindedly will move to somewhere it doesn’t need to be.

My concern right now is that I have some harden/calloused skin on my ankle and I would like it to be soft again. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or advice on how to get my ankle to be normal?

Bilateral intra-articular hip injections wearing off

Hi all,

I had bilateral intra-articular hip injections under fluoroscopy done on 02/13/2026. Now 4.5 months later, they are wearing off. I have *enjoyed* my new found mobility, but unfortunately they are wearing off and hurting pretty badly, especially my left side which is going down to my knee.

What can I do? Because I’ve been without pain in my hips, my life feels normal and I’m scared to hurt again. Any advice appreciated.

Ever get sick from working in BSL3 or BSL4?

Hi all,

I’m currently looking at a job for a BSL2/3 job, and I think my biggest fear is getting sick from it. There’s a lot of different things they are doing in this lab, but just curious to know if anyone has gotten sick! Please share any and all experiences below

I’m tired

Hello all,

To start, I am not officially diagnosed, but am going through the rigorous process. My doctor and neurologist think my symptoms could highly be related to vestibular migraines.

Some days are better than others. When the episodes come on, it gets really hard to be a person. I recently got out of a 22 day episode and had exactly one week without symptoms. Now I’m three days in and it’s been really hard on me this time. The one week without symptoms made me hopeful, but now that it’s back again so soon makes it more infuriating and exhausting.

I think the worst of it is when I feel like my head is shaking from the inside and it starts going across my body. I feel like what I imagine a ghost to feel like - vibrating through different planes of existence. I’ve been dizzy before and always have been sensitive to specific movements, but sometimes the room spins towards my feet instead of in a clockwise motion.

I’ve had 1-2 episodes since 2023, but it started really bad about 8 months ago, with episodes lasting 1-3 weeks between 1-2 weeks of relief. Nothing has worked. I don’t know what my triggers are. I worry what life is going to be like if I spend 40-50% of my time feeling like this. I’m feeling defeated. It’s impacting every single part of my life.

I just want to not feel this way anymore 😔

And no one in my real life understands. I can’t make anyone feel what it is I’m feeling, and that’s super frustrating too.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading. Any thoughts, advice, tips/tricks, and questions are welcomed

Am I cooked?

Not sure how long this has been here, but I just noticed it tonight.

Some background: I rent. This house was built in the 1940’s and is slowly falling apart. The first two pictures are of the current issue and the third picture is what happened in the first couple of days of moving in. The third picture was bubbled up like the current issue, but it dripped so much more than now. After several days (waiting on someone to come and fix it), it just popped. The owners then replaced the whole AC unit and got the issue fixed in a few days. The HVAC people came and I heard them cracking up from the attic, but never said why they were laughing. Every time someone goes up there, they just laugh so hard. Anyways, it was fixed. That was August 2023 (almost 3 years ago) and the new AC has been a dream.

However, the house is TERRIBLY insulated. During the summer, I am having to constantly run the AC at 65 and hope that I don’t boil inside. I have a fan that I run to help keep it cool, but it will still get up to 73-75 on bad days.

I’m going to tell the owners as soon as possible, but just wanted to know more of what is going on?

Hi all,

I’m currently in the process of being treated for possible vestibular migraines. I’ve started Lamictal, and I’m curious to know what dosage works for everyone’s vestibular migraines.

I’m currently on 25 mg twice a day and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in my symptoms.

What dosage stopped your vestibular migraines all together?
