I have been on a major IC Collective kick and have been trying most of the 2-gram live resins I see on the menu for the Curaleafs I hit. The latest one I picked up was the Ziablo 2-gram jar on my Waxy Wednesday restock day last week. At the 40% off price point it makes the most sense as a heavy dabber. The consistency and effects are nice and it runs through the Puffco very well, but the profile just doesn't click me. It has a funky, borderline fuel/gassy profile, which is the main thing I pick up from it, but it just doesn't hit my pallet the way I expect profiles like this to. I usually love a lot of funky, fuel/gassy profiles so this one has me stumped, and I honestly appreciate most profiles. I have to stress that this is not by any means bad, it just doesn't taste the best for me! Lol I wonder if it's a thing like when some enjoy the taste of cilantro and others say it tastes like soap? Anyways, I want to stress again that I am not saying this was bad. The effects and everything else for me were fine and it did its job of medicating me, but it just didn't register too high on my ratings scale. Still love ya IC Collective!!

I have been getting out a lot for hikes with my weighted vest this summer and sometimes smoking on the trails is a bit tricky. I wanted to pick up some short pre-rolls for quick sessions on this upcoming one I had planned so I went with the Anthem Bolds. Hemp wrap blunts are my go-to but they take too long sometimes for my hikes when it is an active trail with a lot of people, so I have been loving these Anthem Bold shorties for some quick pick me ups when I'm out!

I picked up the newest release from them and really enjoyed my picks. Cherry Slugger and Spicey Dugout were the ones I went with this time which were apart of the Summer Nights Collection. I wanted an Indica and a Sativa so I jumped on these! I feel the Anthems are the most consistent pre-rolls for how well they burn. I get frustrated when pre rolls are packed to tight and the tail end of them is not smokeable but I have never had that issue with Anthems.

I am a big fan of the glass and wood tips that come with these which helps allot with the consistent burning. The Cherry Slugger Sativas were great for the pre-hike session and while on my journey. The Spicey Dugout was a nice capstone to the hike to help me unwind and gear down. Both paired very well for the day so all in all it was a successful purchase and day!

I have been on an IC Collective kick the past few weeks, and I keep getting blown away by the quality and price point! This I.C.K.O is a nice cross between T.I.T.S and Sour Diesel delivering a hefty diesel profile with a mix of citrus throughout it. It feels very balanced with a nice focus heavy high for me. Curaleaf in Morris is where I picked this one up and for the 2g jar on their Waxy Wednesday deal they run, I was able to snag this one for only 44 bucks!! Such a steal for the quality!!! With all this nice hash I have been coming across lately, I decided to give my Mothership Faberge Egg a nice bath for some sessions. I absolutely will still be buying my 3.5 buckets from Grassroots but If I have any options for IC collective available, I will be keeping a jar or 2 of their stuff in the rotation as much as I can! I recently saw that IC Collective is now producing Piatella, which is super exciting! That has always been on my bucket list for hash, so I am going to be hitting one of the recreational dispensaries closer to me to grab a gram of that! Keep an eye out for that review soon! 

 I am not one who buys Rosin too often, but I could not pass up a deal on a 30-dollar gram of Diesel Scream Rosin from IC collective. I recently tried out the Headband live resin from them and was absolutely blown away with it, so I decided to give them another go. As I mentioned before in my Headband post, when IC Collective first came into the scene, I was not too taken back by what I tried, but I wanted to give them some time to iron out any initial start-up kinks, and they absolutely did! When I saw the quality of this jar when I opened it up, I was taken back! The genetics for this strain are Ice Cream Cake crossed with Sour Diesel, which is an absolutely delightful pairing.

 Ice Cream Cake recently became a favorite of mine over the past 4 years, so seeing a cross with a heavy hitter like sour diesel definitely caught my interest. The Diesel in this Ice Cream cross stands out prominently, loud, and proud! The sweet yet earthy Ice Cream Cake notes trickle out on the back end once you fully process the diesel profile. I said it before and I will say it again, IC Collective you have gained a new loyal customer with the work y'all keep putting out! Thank you for producing amazing hash at great prices!! Keep it up!!!

First things first, I need to tip my cap and start a round of applause for IC Collective being the first hash I have purchased in the state of Illinois that has had a seal like this inside the jar. Finally, a remedy for the dreaded sauce in the threads headache dabbers know all too well! A saucy concentrate leaking into the grooves of the threading on my jar is my true kryptonite as a hash consumer. There is nothing worse than being stoked to try out your latest provisions and when you twist the lid to your jar you feel that resistance. If you dab, you know exactly what I'm referring to here lol. IC Collective just locked in a sure-fire way to keep your sauce safe and your threads on your jars smooth! A guaranteed feeling of relief when buying and opening your hash, which to me is an absolute game changer! 

I totally understand that accidents happen with concentrates getting tipped somewhere in transit, it is part of the game. This just solved it though, so well-done IC Collective! Now let's get into the nitty gritty of this pick! I have not had just straight Headband in close to 10 years personally so when I saw the 2-gram live resin on my menu for 57 bucks, I decided to roll the dice and I won big on this one!  

Now I want to be fully transparent here. When IC Collective first came to the scene I grabbed a rosin to give them a shot. The rosin I bought when they first dropped, I was unfortunately a little underwhelmed. The jar I got was a bit dry, so it didn't leave much for flavor profile. I know how sensitive and delicate all the processes are for cultivation and hash production, so I wrote it off as them being new and finding their rhythm. Sure enough they found that rhythm and are absolutely crushing it!!! I am big on Grassroots since I buy the 3.5 buckets allot. It the most cost effective for me personally. After this purchase though I will without a doubt be keeping this company in my hash rotation when they are available at my shop!  

The consistency of this live resin Headband is phenomenal. From color to smell and taste, this jar absolutely crushes it on the ratings scale. Dabbing this brought me back to the old days when this strain was popping off all over. This hit all the boxes on the Headband check list. That initial cozy mental headband head high upon first hit that flows into that melting warmth and relief throughout your whole body. It has that heavy diesel nose and taste on the flavor and nose profile with earthy woody hints dancing throughout all backed up with dash of citrus. Good grief  I forgot how much I love this strain. I mean, how can you go wrong when your parents are OG Kush and Sour Diesel?  

From the research I found on their site, IC Collective has a copy of the original genetics for Headband which I absolutely love! Salvaging and keeping these classic strains alive and circulating is so critical and important for our culture.  Old school heavy hitter genetics like this have such a fun colorful history. Wild stories and lore on how some of these major strains were birthed, and how genetics have been preserved and kept around for future generations to enjoy. It is living/smokeable history for our culture! The team over there at IC collective clearly know their stuff and I can tell are some true heads within this industry! Huge major shout out and props to the whole team over there, please keep doing what y'all are doing! You locked in a new consistent customer with this one for sure! 

THEY FINALLY DID IT!! Select finally put out a live resin line of the Briq's! This is something I have been saying I would love to see since day one with the Briq's. I love a vape that reliable, budget friendly, and packs a punch with high-quality oil and these Live Briq's nail it! Ever since they upgraded to the new style units with the dosage meter and the preheat feature, the Briq's have been hitting so hard! So for them to now have these Live Collection options is a huuuuge win! The GMO cookies has a nice classic GMO profile with a dash of sweet from the cookies on the backend of it. The Briq 2s in general hit really hard to where even the regular distillate ones would get me surprisingly high for a distillate product. Let me tell you though, this live resin GMO Cookies absolutely hit the spot! I felt it in my eyes right away. That nice heavy warm blanket feeling from an Indica that starts in the back of the eyes and slowly melts throughout your body. Very grounding and calming all around and I will absolutely be purchasing again!! 

I have been seeing a lot of the Dark Heart flower being promoted at my local Curaleaf and have been hearing great things! I decided to take a shot in the dark (did not mean to make this a pun, but it works lol) and pick up a half of the Moonbeam Gelato. For starters, I really loved the packaging on this line. Nice and classy black and red scheme in a nice glass jar that I will absolutely be keeping for future storage. I dig how the jars are all blacked out, which to my knowledge is most likely adding a bit of UV protection to your herb, so I'm all for it. The bottom of the jar is clear, which is nice so you can get a peak of the flower to give you an idea of what you are getting into. This line is all hand trimmed which is a big plus for not having the nugs in an auto trimmer tumbling around damaging trichomes. This flower reminds me of really good quality home grown flower; you can just tell it has had some extra TLC put into it.

The Moonbeam Gelato has a super sweet profile. The Strawberry Banana genetics stand out with this one with its fruity profile. I am personally not too crazy on fruity profile strains, but this one was delightful. It's a nice mid-day smoke strain, great for social settings or just hanging out and watching a fun movie. I was very impressed with the over quality of this line and will absolutely be keeping them in my rotation. They have a lot of fun new strains coming out from what I have seen online, and I'm super stoked to try them after giving this one a shot and enjoying it so much. Give them a try; you will not be disappointed!

Good grief, this one was a special pick! I just picked up the Bolo Runtz from Nez and I cannot evangelize this one enough! I snagged the half ounce on sale for about 105 after points and some discounts the store was having.  Just from visual alone when looking at the jar you know this one is going to knock it out of the park! When I got home I did a deep clean on my Grav daily driver to make sure I got the proper first introduction with this flower. This gassy, yet sweet strain is the perfect capstone for your busy day to melt away your stress and tension. With its lineage sitting with Biscotti and Sherb Cake this one gives you the best of both worlds with effects.  If you may be a little sensitive to indicas you will find yourself couch locked after a session for sure! I love indicas and they tend to center and ground me, so I get very focused with a good indica like this. It was also extremely helpful with my muscle tension and aches from the gym post work out. The nugs in this half are absolute eye candy! Very frosty and well formed with strong purple accents throughout. This is the type of flower that brings me back to my early days of smoking. That kind of strain that falls into your lap randomly that you were not expecting that just knocks your sox off. The type of strain that you get genuinely excited to get home and smoke. One where you find yourself just opening the jar for another smell then closing it back up to only pick it up again a minute later for another whiff. Pick this one up if y'all come across it! Major props to the cultivation team over at Nez!!! Y'all keep knocking it out of the park!!! Keep it up!! 

Triple stack is a favorite of mine from Grassroots that they have put out in the past year or so. It is gassy and very pungent. I have picked up this strain from them in the Sugar and the Budder, so I had to round it out and give the crumble a go! I really appreciate all of Grassroots concentrates and have really enjoyed the crumble from them in the past. Don't get me wrong, I love a nice terpy and saucy concentrate, but I really appreciate the ease of handling crumble as long as it is not too dry. I took a roll of the dice and opted for the crumble over the sugar for the Triple Stack on this visit. Unfortunately, this is the first time I have gotten crumble from them that is dry like this one was. Due to this, it unfortunately missed the mark on pungent and all around satisfaction meter I was hoping for with this batch.  The ease of handling this one was a bit challenging on a cold, clean dabber, but with a little heat or some residual melted hash from your previous dab fixes this right away. I have always been a happy camper with the quality of Grassroots concentrates, which is why I consistently have bought their products for about 5 plus years now, and will continue to do so. I won't let one run from them that doesn't knock it out of the park for me tarnish my views on them! The dryness of this one took away from its overall score for me, but it absolutely is still doing the job! I am going to probably pick up some Aeriz FSHO and mix it in when I get down to about 2 grams. On my dispensary quest for the week I also snagged the Mad Rabbid #7 Budder from Grassroots in honor of 710 coming up! That one really knocked it out of the park, so take a look at that review! MAD RABBID #5 BUDDER : r/ILTrees

I can't speak highly enough of this Mad Rabbid #5 budder from Grassroots! It has been a bit since I have enjoyed a concentrate so much that I went back the next day to buy a second bucket. The genetics are Kush Mints X Grapes and Cream. The nose on this one reminds me so much of the MAC genetics they were running a few years back but with some added gassy notes. The main profile you get from it is to me like a cake/cookies/cereal blend that is so inviting. The effects absolutely blew me away on this one. I did not expect such a grounded and cozy high. Once I laid down in my bean bag chair, I was out like a light and woke up at 7am with all of my lights and TV still on. Major knock out all around for this strain! The consistency is amazing too, with just the right amount of sauce/terps to pack that flavor into the product but not anything you need to worry about leaking if your container gets flipped at any point in transit. I will absolutely be adding this one to my favorite strain list from Grassroots! Well done to the whole Grassroots team over there at cultivation on this one!! 

 

 

 Ice cream cake is easily in my top 5 strains available in the Illinois market. I always indulge and try whatever products I may come across when I see Ice Cream Cake. I figured with the holiday and wanting to try something new I jumped on this Limited Edition Briq from Select. The genetics they had for this Ice Cream Cake has it labeled as a hybrid, but it definitely sits more towards the indica side. The flavor profile is great for it being distillate and as I have mentioned before in a previous post, this new style of the Briq’s hit! If you still need to make a trip to your local dispensary for your holiday party tonight or this weekend at all, pick one up for a deal on a decent amount of oil that will definitely do the job! The Briq’s are such a great social setting/party vape in my opinion. They have a sharable amount of affordable and decent oil you don't feel bad passing around to your friends. I like to keep one on hand for these types of settings and since I'm going to a party tomorrow night, I was stoked to see this option available at my Curaleaf!  

 

 

I am a huge fan of the drink mixes that these cultivators are putting out! I love being able to sip something and get medicated. I am 6.5 years sober from alcohol so I have always leaned in heavy on the infused drinks I can get from the dispensary since they were a big part of my alcohol sobriety journey. My all-time favorites are the Revolution Surps! Needless to say, any new drink mixes that I see on the menu; I always jump on and try. I love when I can find any that are rosin infused too. The rosin infused ones always seem to have a bit of hashy backbone to it with the flavor which I adore! I was very impressed with the effects of this new Journeyman Strawberry Lemonade Hash Rosin drink mix!  I love taking my Yeti, filling it with ice and just pouring the whole thing in it over some sprite and just sip on it slowly through the night.  As I expected, it had a nice hashy profile with the strawberry lemonade flavor. It was a very balanced high that did hit pretty hard thanks to that extra kick from the rosin and definitely had me feeling great! The munchies were no joke after this one so just a friendly heads up to be ready lol. This will be a great pick for those hot summer days we have coming up around the pool or grill with friends so keep your eyes peeled during your next dispensary visit to see if it's in stock!
