OK, this is gonna ruffle some feathers as some one who literally spent years of his life going through all seven of these books and loves them and really loves the concept and the characters. This conclusion sucks balls.

I’ve been seeing alot of people bitch about the ending and I didn’t get it until finished it. Not only did Chris set everything up to have a “happy ending” literally dragging us through seven books…. he smashed the cake in front of us and then took off with our wife.

It’s like he got tired of writing about Hadrian and felt like he hadn’t embarrassed him enough in KoD so disposed of him in the most mocking way possible.

Just give us what we want. Hadrian takes the throne, marries Selene, blah blah blah, give us a little mini series of Hadrian ruling or even move on to other characters in the universe or do a prequel.

You didn’t have to do our boy Hadrian like that. I get he’s Catholic but not everything has to end up with Christs walk to Golgotha.

Hadrian should’ve burned earth. Had a baby with Selene, met up with his sister, etc etc.

It’s not even an ending because we have this 7th book idiot Hadrian talking about how he searched the stars for Selene and Kassandra without ever telling us what happened in between.

Ok Chris I get it, you never really thought out how the story would be told and finished and whatever. Who tf is going to destroy Demiurge? Put it in a museum dude. Don’t destroy it cause you’re morally superior to the universe.

I literally could go on and on what I’m saying is Chris passed up on a golden opportunity to continue the series with Hadrian as emperor and we all would’ve loved it and bought it. I already have seen my heroes assassinated for crimes they didn’t commit, I don’t need it in my favorite book series too. Let me have a happy ending dude.

How come dog groomers never get raises or benefits or job security not even a 401(k) most of the time. How come as time goes forward we have to fight for that 50% commission that used to come standard?

If you’re out here accepting a commission rate that is less than 50%, you are fucking it up for the rest of us. I don’t care if you’re a shitty groomer or amazing at what you do that 50% comes standard and no one should be accepting any less.

I didn’t spend 15 years pouring my life into this business just so hounds town USA or wherever the fuck could justify paying me 45% commission to offset their marketing costs.

Their costs, their overhead, their lifetime investment that they poured into the business is not our fucking problem. We get paid 50% commission for every dog that we groom.

We absolutely need a union. We absolutely need regulation. Motherfuck these business owners that have no idea how difficult the job is and wanna fucking gaslight us into agreeing to anything less than 50%. Commission.

This does not include mobile grooming because the pay scale and overhead are a little different

This isn’t going to be true for everyone and every situation but this is my take after 15 years doing this shit. And starting at PetSmart.

Right now in the current ecosystem of dog grooming I think the best option for most of us is to go corporate. I have had shop owners try to steal money from me, mistreat customers and dogs. They’ve tried to belittle me. They’ve tried to replace me with people who aren’t as good and will accept less money. I’ve had shop owners hide Customer complaints from me so that they can build up a tally and then fire me without even giving me a first talking to. Ive had most of them try to 1099 me because they’re not trying to pay employment taxes (I don’t agree with taxes btw, the less money the govt gets to bomb brown people the better)

In short, I’ve had to deal with every shade of scumbag shop owner in this business that gives you cheap supplies, broken equipment, and then expects you to groom 8 dogs a day to perfection, or to turn and burn them because the shop owner themselves is a poor dog groomer.

It is very rare that you will find a sane, kind, supportive shop owner that will employ you and pay you what your worth.

And to those dog groomers who know what I’m talking about, and are wondering where to invest their career into, give corporate dog grooming establishments a shot. Not only are you going to have better access to benefits and all the perks that normies get at their job. It’s way less likely you’re going to be at the mercy of vindictive shop owners, caddy drama between groomers, broken equipment, psychological harassment, or unrealistic quotas. There’s no law against you promoting yourself out in the wild with business cards or what have you, trying to get the customers you want in the door.

It’s not just petsmart and petco. The best set up you could ask for is being a dog groomer at a vets office or probably mobile.

This post is not for the dog groomers that have found a forever shop, are buddy buddy with the owner, or work for themselves.

If you have hesitation about applying at a corporation to do dog grooming, this is your permission to go ahead and try it. Nothing will ever be perfect, but you will deal with less of the bullshit.

This statement won’t always be true, things change, but this is the way it is now.

This is who I’m talking about: the people who have been born and raised here rarely lived anywhere else are older +40 that use the ground as a trashcan.

I just saw an old man at a gas station empty out his Camaro full of trash at the gas pump when there was a perfectly good trashcan right there where you could’ve put it all in.

Who I am looking for answers from: can someone explain to me if there is a history of littering in this city that people are not so aware of if they’re new here. My friends who are from here litter and I fucking hate it. I’m not allergic to trash cans. Can someone who is from here and knows what I’m talking about, Please explain to me why people from New Orleans litter so much.
