Thoughts on Cabaret?

Looks pretty amazing but the hodinkee article says it wears big for 6.5inch wrist.

Also, previous models that are similar (limited edition, tourbillon, but not hg) seem like they sell for a fraction of the retail price? Not sure if these listings are even remotely accurate. I’m not trying to make money on these watches but want to avoid “losing” substantial amount of value.

Any thoughts?

Edit:
Gosh someone pointed out the misaligned screws on the tourbillon/bridge and I can’t unsee them

At this price level they should have paid more attention to details like that…

Fat Safari trip for 2 weeks in December

Would you have any recs for agencies/tour companies you used for an all-inclusive package? Or are there better ways to do this trip?

Also, which countries are better to visit in December? Would love some thoughts. This might be our last trip before trying to have kids and we want to make the most out of it. Willing to spend $50-100k plus.

Thank you so much!

Versailles - private tour vs DIY

Is it worth booking these EUR$1200-1400 private tours with golf carts vs just DIYing?

I often feel like I want to "learn more" interesting stuff when I'm visiting historical sites, but don't want to be a part of a big group tour. So my wife & I are considering just hiring a private tour service.

Has anyone done that for Versailles? Would you recommend it? Any service provider you would recommend?

Hello

We're going to France this summer for about 2 weeks: 1st week in Paris, 2nd week traveling around Cannes/Avignon areas.

Plenitude is unfortunately not bookable, but it would be amazing to get some thoughts/recs on which restaurants to book/visit.

So far we've booked:

Paris

  1. Septime
  2. Pierre Gagnaire
  3. L'ambroisie (lunch) - since they do a la carte, we need a quick lunch to make time for shopping
  4. Alleno Paris
  5. Epicure (lunch)
  6. Le Cinq
  7. Le Gabriel - a Youtuber I trust recently posted a video and said it's good but not "moving"... I'm debating if I want to just move Epicure to dinner or book something else. Thoughts? Some other options we thought about are:
    1. We'll be in Japan & KR for about 2 weeks before this, so we thought we would skip on Kei... bad idea?
    2. We ended up cancelling Guy Savoy bc it seems to charge way too much despite having been downgraded to 2 stars, and some reviews on Reddit suggest that their quality has also gone down materially last few years. Thoughts?
    3. Table by Bruno Verjus? It's also on the world's top 100 restaurant list.
  8. We have 2 more dinners that are left unplanned. But these are either the 1st night we arrive (so we wanted to keep it flexible and play it by ear depending on our energy level/jet lag) or a Sunday night i.e. most Michelins aren't open. Any recommendations?

Cannes: we only have 1 dinner available for us due to friend's wedding activities, so we're trying to choose a spot. Some options are below. Any thoughts or other recs?

  1. La Palme d'or - we're staying at the hotel
  2. La Villa Archange - we have a rental car, so this is an option
  3. Flaveur - in Nice
  4. Good lunch spots?

Avignon:

  1. L’Oustau de Baumanière
  2. l'auberge de Saint Remy
  3. Le Vivier (lunch)
  4. La Mirande
  5. We have 2 more nights that are unplanned

We left most lunches unplanned to try smaller/local restaurants but is this a bad idea? My wife wants to eat French onion soup although I told her it's not really a thing in France... lol Would love great lunch spot recommendations in each cities/regions!
