I went off-roading for the first time today.

I’ve never owned a four wheel drive car even though I’ve loved watching other off-road for as long as I can remember. So I finally saved up and bought a Tacoma.

Not going to lie. This is like a level 3 on OnX but I felt like I was going through rubicon. Lol. I went about a 1/4 of the way up a trail in Orange county that goes up to Silverado Peak, but as light as this trail was I thought it would be wise to go up when I’m not alone,

I’ve definitely got bit by the but. I’m exited to see what this can do stock, then upgrade when I need to. I can tell for sure it will need tires at some point.

Thanks for reading.

You too, can obtain your goals.

24, stock TRD Off-road. All windows open. Eco-mode

Really though, what’s the rush?? I had to drive about 2-3mph under the speed limit (California).

I’m really kinda having a hard time figuring out what I’d like to get.

Thought about gen 2 tundra, don’t want to pay 45-50k for a 85k mile truck. Considering gen 3, but not sure if dealing with a ticking time bomb of a motor is the play.

I thought about f150 and Silverado, but here is a lot of talk about their transmissions being junk. Even you get a 23 newerZ As much as I like the f150. It worries me.

I’m leaning towards maybe a newer Tacoma but it seems small.

I already have an electric car, so, I’m not considering an electric truck.

I do light off-roading, just trails or fire roads type thing so I don’t need or want a jeep but would like four wheel.
