I've been really feeling this lately, y'all might enjoy

If y'all like Jesse's stuff like I do, you might enjoy this old classic too. The line

"Nobody tells you when you get born here how much you'll come to love it and how you'll never belong here"

really speaks to a feeling I've been having a lot, that I feel Jesse shares in his work. That critical patriotism, loving your home but not accepting its current state, is a feeling it's nice to be reminded has been around as long as we've been here.

I also find the imagery on this and much of Rich's work so beautifully compelling. The second and third verses on this tune give me goosebumps all the time.

Pile-o-schnoozers

The old boy Bjørn was snuggled in for the dbacks game and the puppy Ole decided to make it a literal dogpile!

Any Low Gap signs in town?

Hey folks! Maybe a long shot, but has anyone ever seen a low gap sign anywhere around the valley? I've been following this band called Low Gap in Ohio since before they even formed and I think it would be super cool to shoot a cover in front of the sign if there's one around

New meta for mustachioed players?

If you have a mustache or beard and have tried to play, you may have experienced what I did, that the harmonica wants to rip out your whiskers like you're Thaedus or something. I tried the electrical tape fix suggested by someone here, and it kind of worked, but the electrical tape taste was in my mouth, it wanted to slide off and kept peeling up and when I took it off it left adhesive goo I had to scrub off with a solvent. But I had the idea a while back to use these little sticky wax bits I remembered from having braces.

I finally got around to getting some, rolled two pieces out into little logs and pressed them down to cover the cracks as you can see here, and at least so far it feels like it's on there really solidly and will stay for a long time. More importantly, it doesn't impede the actual playing area, and most importantly, I ran it back and forth wildly under the corners of my 'stache and didn't get even a single slight tug! Has anyone else tried this? I'd be curious to know how it's worked for anyone else, but if you've been having this problem, so far I'd definitely recommend this (or just get good and buy the $200 set with full top plates lol)

Since fatigue pants, and specifically the 107s are popping off this summer, I'm guessing a lot of people might be looking into these reproductions since originals are scarce and pricey. I was told by several different people that they run small and you should size up. In my case, at least, that appears to have been the wrong move. The fabric and construction are incredible, they feel very tough but still very breathable, but the size large (listed at about 34" on the size chart) is definitely too big for me (typically a 32"). In other words, as long as your pants size is pretty reflective of your actual measurements, I'd recommend buying your true size in these.

Here I show the large pants as they fit on me, how they fit with the side adjusters both tightened, how size 31" Wrangler 13mwz (tend to run large) fit for comparison, and then at the end some photos of the reverse sateen fabric from both sides. You can see they're very large in the waist and the seat (a bit of droopy butt/diaper pants effect), and definitely longer than the listed 30" inseam when not cuffed. But they're beautifully constructed, and the cloth is soft, tough, and seemingly made with pretty long-staple cotton, judging from the feel and visual sheen.
