Foundation Repair Question
My parents purchased a 100 year old cabin with some foundation issues. They hired a foundation repair company to replace a section of the foundation and raise up one end of a room a couple of inches on one side. So far the work looks good. They redid the floor in the room that had the work done to the foundation. My question is: is it normal to have crack control joints in interior cement? I know this is normal for exterior cement, but I don’t know that I’ve ever seen it inside a house. I’m anticipating this adding some difficulty to my putting in new floors. If it is a big issue, I’d like to know before my dad meets with the repair people for the final walk through this week. Thanks in advance for any insight and suggestions you can give!
Oh, and if it is relevant, the cabin is in the Sierra Nevada mountains and not winterized (yet). It will see cold temperatures and snow for 3-5 months out of the year.
