The most welcoming underpass shortcut I stumbled upon.
These footpaths under bridges are usually sketchy as hell. Was pleasantly surprised to find this little shortcut from S 2nd to Harbor View/ Third ward. I guess the adjacent business/Apt is responsible for all the flowers, very charming. Take that wrong turn and get lost for a bit, MKE has so many unexpected moments around every corner.
Summer Goals
Maisel’s fashions always deliver, but this scene was such a vibe. Hot Girl Summer circa 1950s.
Susie reminds me of young Rosie O’Donnell
First time watcher and really enjoying the series as a refreshing pallet cleanser with unexpected heart and humor. Growing to love Susie’s character and keep seeing parallels to League of their Own-era Rosie, not only physically but in their mannerisms and comedic timing. The accent is similar too.
Any interesting history or personal experience with Orlandini Studios?
Not sure why exactly but this building caught my eye today. It’s unassuming and pretty run down, but there’s a shabby-chic charm to it, like “if the walls could talk” kind of place. Website says Orlandinini is an ornamental plaster studio since 1936. There was some very beautiful work on their online gallery. Wondering if anyone has worked with the studio personally, or knows of any notable projects around town. S 6th and W Virginia
Zocalo-adjacent street work looking good
This strip of road by Zocalo has been torn up for so long I almost forgot what it used to look like. But I like the herringbone brick pavers they’re using, and possibly some trees or big planters will line the street. Come on patio weather!
Walkers Point has some of the most iconic landmarks in the city
Guardian Angel paintings
I remember this exact painting being hung prominently over our living room mantle in the 90’s, with a gaudy baroque gold frame. I have an older sister so Mom told us we were the two children represented and always had an angel nearby. I’m in no way religious these days but still a fond memory.
