[Chacos Cloud] Time to retire?

I live in Singapore so it's hot and humid all year round. I bought my first pair of Chacos back in 2023 and i was new to this brand. Mad love for their arch support (flat feet fella) and i wear it frequently. I've hiked in this as well.

Comparing this to my Teva sandals, Chacos is alot more slippery on wet surfaces even when it was new. My Teva was never slippery even when i retired it. So many times i almost slipped and i have to be careful when walking in Chacos. I had no worries in Teva, i could even run knowing i won't fall in them.

It's been 3 years now (ONLY 3!) and the footbed has deteriorated. It smells whenever i wear it despite drying under the strong sun here in Singapore. I use shoe deo to temporary kill the odour whenever i return home and before wearing.

Just wondering if this is the lifespan and quality of Chacos for everyone? Pretty tempted to give it another chance but honestly kinda leaning towards getting Teva as replacement.

Dumpling festival - how d'you utilise your torn leaves?

dumpling festival is back! to go straight into my question, i was helping my mother to prepare the leaves and wow, the number of torn leaves can repack to sell. what a waste of money... we threw it down the chute cause unusable. this cycle repeats every year.

i suggested to double layer the dumpling but my mother said it's useless.

how do you recycle yours?

Reframing donated artwork

my company received some canvas artwork. the frames are old, dirty, and rusty. and smelly cause it's been kept for a long time. some canvas are loose and some don't have rings and wire for hanging. i'm unsure of the value but i believe it's slightly expensive considering that the donator is an avid art collector.

i have zero knowledge of all these and i'm proposing to get it reframed. i narrowed down some framing companies and would like any suggestions/recommendations/experience/tips.

  1. Ansa Picture Framing

  2. Sin Yip Seng Glass & Frame Merchant

thank you :')
