Dual EM + IM Application

Hey folks

I'm interested primarily in EM but also in IM. I was wondering how you could manage a competitive dual application, especially in terms of elective distribution + LORs/SLOEs.

I'm assuming I'd have to get at least 3 SLOEs for EM + 3 IM-focused LORs for this to be viable. I'm not sure about how to distribute electives.

Also, do you think a critical care elective would reflect well for IM? Or would reviewers not necessarily be fond of that compared to a GIM or another IM subspecialty elective?

Thanks

AI Patient-Enabled Chatbot Project Endorsed by CAEP

CAEP is the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians, for those who are unfamiliar.

> After patients speak with the triage nurse as their first point of contact during their emergency visit, they will be invited to access SIENA and answer the chatbot’s prompts to gather further information on their condition. The chatbot will analyze this information using machine learning models to identify patterns that can help clinicians anticipate key elements of a patient’s care—such as their likely diagnosis, the resources they may need, and whether admission is probable—supporting faster, more informed decision-making in the emergency department.

Would this be helpful? Would it be problematic to emergency physicians? Thoughts?

Horribly Disappointed With New Bottle

TL;DR: Got a new bottle of a favourite fragrance and it's performance is absolutely horrible.

I really like Polo Black. It's not the most exciting fragrance, but it's simple and I've gotten quite a few compliments on it. I had been wearing it regularly for a while now.

I got a new bottle now since my old one had finished and I am EXTREMELY disappointed. It feels like it's been diluted 10 times over. The strongest scent in the new bottle is that of ethanol, after which it quickly fades to a subtle skin scent with 0 projection or longevity. Barely works ad an air freshener. Does not have the classic tropical, fresh, sweet, mango scent with woody undertones that I know. It just smells vaguely tropical and then like nothing.

Image of both bottles

Left: old bottle (shorter, thicker). Right: New bottle (taller, slimmer). Both of them are the same volume (4.2 fl oz / 125 ml).

Would love to know if anyone has had a similar experience with Polo fragrances, and also if there's any advice for getting that same old scent that I love.
