UCSD Rescind

Hello just to get straight to the point, i got an F and a D in the final semester of my senior year and i am basically at a huge risk of being rescinded. I got into UCSD as an art major, and during July-ish i got the opportunity to explain why i got a grade lower than C and explained some housing situation and lack of access to medication that hindered my academic progress and things I’ve done in the summer to get myself back on track.

Its now august and soon September, where ill get my dorm assignment tmrw and I’ll need to attend the in person orientation, but i still have no response so far regarding my grades. If i am to be rescinded, when do these emails usually come out? I know UCs rarely provide exceptions for violating the contract of maintaining your admission, so I just want to know what i should do to mentally prepare myself in a way. I just saw a post where someone else got rescinded for a similar situation and honestly any hope i had for myself just dropped to zero. </3

Hello, incoming freshman here. with the decision day coming up, I'm stressing between UCSD and SCU regarding the psychology department.

I visited both schools and found things I liked for both schools, it was great. But I am leaning more towards UCSD right now but with some financial circumstances, it leaves me 50/50.

UCSD: I really loved the campus and how it felt more like a small town rather than a school, I always had expectations of independence for college and UCSD gave me exactly that feeling. UCSD has a great psychology program and research opportunities, but due to the large class sizes I know competition is harsh. I also have couple of friends + friend of friends at UCSD, so I was able to get a lot of information regarding classes early on. I would say I know more about UCSD than I do for SCU. However, finaid is also a huge issue due to my family being evicted earlier this march, I am able to take the option to take 9k out for loans and pay 2-3k a year. However, a part of those loans is parental loans(4k ish), but I'm not sure if my parents qualify for it due to them having 0 income the past four years.

SCU: SCU is a smaller, quieter campus compared to UCSD. It really did feel like your definition of a college, with more of an organized(?) vibe around the campus. Because it is a private institution, there's about 9k students(compared to UCSD's 40k) and I would have less of an issue forming a bond with the professors. I was able to contact an SCU alumni, although he was a business major he did let me know of the smaller class sizes and much opportunities for internship(for business). If I ever do commit to here, I plan to minor in business. I honestly don't know much about the psychology program at SCU, but from what I've researched so far SCU puts a lot of effort into the well being of their students and I will be able to get more help from here than a larger school. Considering finaid, I was able to get about 85k in aid so my tuition comes out to be 7k, and with loans it will be more manageable than UCSD(about 3k difference).

I also plan to attend medical school, and I'm aware GPA and experience matter the most for this. Currently for high school, I was a straight A student, only experienced severe slumps due to my financial situation cutting me off on my ADHD meds + others. It really does boil down to where I can excel better and get better research opportunities. Decision day is this Friday, and I'd like to hear from people on this sub, id appreciate it all c:

Hello, incoming first year here, decision day is around the corner and im really split between SCU and UCSD.

I was wondering how the psych department is like for SCU cuz I didn't get to ask much questions during Broncos Day, I'm interested in how classes usually go, research opportunities, and grad school after that.
