How recoverable is a 4 month hiatus on a 5k sub channel?

For context:

During my semesters at college one of my recent hobbies has been starting up a channel, in 14 videos this year I grew to 4.9k subscribers, averaging anywhere from 5-40k views per video. (Not crazy but starting with 0 YouTube or editing knowledge, it definitely meant a lot)

However due to the stress of being home for summer (ironic I know) I haven’t had the time to fully commit to working on, and releasing projects which led to me having a 4 month lapse in uploads.

Going into the next semester I plan on coming back, keeping the same niche while also experimenting with composition and stakes to try and reach a broader audience breaking the sub-100k view trap. (my content is Minecraft related so passing that isn’t like some crazy feat, I’ve just learned a lot recently and throughout my time posted this year as I started with 0 knowledge)

What do you think?? It’s just a hobby of mine, but definitely kept me busy and don’t want to give up on it.

looking for 1-2 ppl interested in helping act out a narrative for a project

Hii!!!
I’m a very small creator with about 4.8k subscribers currently. I’m looking for 1-2 people interested in helping on a project I’m working on later this month which would involve a few quick role-played scenes.

(mainly just need an extra body or two as “characters”, not your voice or anything)

I’m hoping this could stem into future collaborations with like minded people (like an ‘I owe you’ system) as I don’t have any friends interested in this stuff that I could go to, and don’t have the funds to dish out pay

More info:

My channels niche is a hardcore world-building series where I utilize my building skills as the value prop of the channel (as many people do)

Over the course of the year I put out 14 long form videos (low quality videos in retrospect) basically trying to get the hang of YouTube and algorithmic alignment. which somehow ended up with me gaining decent enough traction to reach around 4.8k subs before a mix of burn out and lack of free time during the summer months led to me going on a 4 month hiatus

However in that time, and with the proof of concept there (people think my builds are cool) I’ve spent a while learning more about composition, storytelling and editing while also planning out a future for my channel as this is a favorite hobby of mine.

I’ve also conjured a thesis behind the struggles for many in this specific niche (survival worldbuilding) and just my channel in general, and plan on putting it to the test as I fall back into the grind of pushing out another 10+ videos.

If you’re interested in helping, you can hmu and I can tell you more, or you can just add my discord: dylisdoog if you want to collaborate in general

Although I can be a ghost sometimes, it would be a joy to work with some like minded people!!

Building a narrative story game / map completely from scratch

This is the first months progress, so not too much rn as I haven’t had the most time to allocate

But eventually it will include a fully built up city, and a totally contrasting electrical industrial underground hiding the main climax point of the story

Im also designing and documenting it entirely in a YouTube video essay challenge style way which is why its lowkey gonna take another month or two

first time picking up a camera critique me

(besides the fact that the shot angles are all mid since im constrained to what i can see around my house, and the lack of proper quality (old camera)

some are just shots with some adjustment, some are aimed n colored to feel like movie stills (even though obviously I have a lot to learn, I’m just exploring interests)

ive always been bad with trees, so any advice would be amazing!! i tried ex perimenting with branch/trunk styles, and used spruce leaves where shadows would be< and azaela where the light hits. some i like more than others, but eh still proud, my first time conquering semi complex tree styles

i'm very bad at trees so it has been a learning process, trying to mix it up with branch styles and stuff, and using birch leaves as the shadowed portions // let me know what you think?? The map is pretty empty rn but making some heavy progress lol. was just a 150x150 wool square 2 weeks ago
