First Time Fringe

Hi there Reddit. I’m coming to the fringe for the first time. I’m only going to be in Edinburgh for 4 full days before roadtripping around Scotland. As I’m planning and booking some tickets I’m realizing the coordination of the shows times and distance is a big limitation on how much I can squeeze in. So far I’m trying to allocate 40-60 minutes in between shows.

A few questions:

  1. Typically, how early do venues start letting people in? Should you plan to get there first thing for decent seats or does it not make too much of a difference if most venues are smaller?
  2. Do shows typically start and end on time?
  3. Do artists (comedians) do any photo opp/merch table at the end? Thinking about if I need to rush out of a theater if I have a limited window.
  4. How many shows would you consider an effective use of the fringe? I’m trying to target 10 shows in 4 days.
  5. Open to recommendations! So far I have Daniel Sloss, Krystyna Hutchinson, Gianmarco Sorresi, Yvette Sagan and Kristen Schall booked. Trying to squeeze in some more British comedians or interesting plays/musicals

I’m looking for a Doctor Who minifigure (10th or 11th). I’m not a purist but I’ve tried searching Ali Express and other sites and can’t seem to find anything. Ideally not trying to buy an expensive figure from some of the great makers out there. I use them for some travel photography, feel free to check out my instagram MinifigsBigPlaces
