Recommendations for economics Master’s/PhD programmes

Recommendations for economics Master’s/PhD programmes

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for a Master’s, postgraduate programme, or PhD (preferably in Europe) with a strong focus on topics such as economic inequality, regional economics, behavioural economics, and methods to analyse these areas through econometrics, statistics, or machine learning.

My background is in Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, and I’ve taken courses in both Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. My goal is to apply my technical training to the study of socio‑economic phenomena.

I am interested in stuff like Machine Learning and Economics Group, Oxford - Maximilian Kasy.

Would love to hear recommendations for programmes or research groups aligned with these themes.

Thanks!

Is the Europass CV website bugged for anyone else? Infinite loading on "Occupation or position held".

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to update my CV on the Europass platform for an upcoming deadline, but I'm encountering a frustrating issue.

Every time I try to add a new work experience, the "Occupation or position held" field triggers an infinite loading spinner. It just keeps freezing/thinking indefinitely and never lets me save or proceed.

Is anyone else experiencing this right now? Is there any known workaround to bypass this field or force it to save?

Thanks in advance!

Tenho C1 a inglês, falo bem espanhol e desenrasco-me em francês e italiano.

Obrigado!

Obrigado!

Late 20s group looking for soulful eats, local bars, and hidden gems next week! (Staying in Cerdanyola)

Hi everyone!

A group of friends and I (all late 20s) are visiting Barcelona for an extended weekend next week. We’re staying in Cerdanyola, so we’ll be relying heavily on public transport (except for a day where we can use the car).

We are the type of group that always likes to look beyond the basics. While we obviously appreciate the big attractions, we really want to get a feel of the local atmosphere too. Specifically, we’re looking for:

  • Authentic & affordable eats: Where can we find legit Catalan or Barcelonian food that won't break the bank? We will be there on Monday as well, so some menú del día recommendations for that day would be amazing. For the other days, just any spots you love that are easy on the wallet: local savory snacks, traditional dishes, desserts, etc. We’re open to everything!
  • Cool Bars (No clubs/discos): We’re looking for spots with a great vibe where locals around our age hang out. Somewhere to grab a few beers and actually be able to talk, but maybe also throw some dance moves if the music feels right! We love places with unusual décor or a unique setup. Doesn't need to be fancy! More like soulful.
  • Hidden Gems: Any lesser-known spots or viewpoints that are easily accessible by train/metro? Also, is there any cool event or street fest happening next week?
  • Bonus question on attractions: We are on a budget, so we have to pick our battles. Since some of us are football fans, we were considering the Camp Nou (though I heard it's under renovation), but we are also torn about the Sagrada Família interior. Since Park Güell seems to be under some works too, which "major" attraction would you say is actually worth the entry fee, something that absolutely only Barcelona has? Or is there a better, cheaper alternative to get that "wow" factor?

We really want to respect the local vibe and discover the city beyond the postcards. Any tips are much appreciated.

Merci!
