Industrial engineering?????

Hi everyone, I'm 18F and I'm so so so confused. I genuinely love finance and management but idk why I took mpc and I recently found out about IE and I think this is the only engineering I like 😭😭😭

Cse is nice and all but the job market is so saturated and I don't really have any interest in engineering except for IE. Like after 2 years of barely getting by in mpc I loathe science as a subject now.. and not to mention I'm dog shit at math.

It i do pursue IE, I plan to do masters in management MIM directly after graduating.

But my dad is against IE and says computer science is better. Ik it is in india but I just know I will struggle so hard as I don't care about engineering so much as my other peers do :((

I qualified for IE at mit manipal but I don't want to make the wrong choice... what do u all think?

I've never been so confused in my life..

I’m really confused about my passion vs a safe degree pls help? (18F)

Hi everyone, I was gonna post this in the Indian careers but I realised I need a global perspective. I’m in the most confused time of my life rn.

For starters, I’m a 12th graduate (got 78% in 12th but I was excepting 87% that’s a story for another day). I was aiming for cse + finance before because I’m extremely passionate about design and finance like I realllllyyy love them. But I don’t really like coding..

I’m really weak in math and genuinely I cannot do physics and chemistry anymore I kind of loathe science now after 2 years of torture.

My father really wants me to do engineering preferably computer science as it’s the safest in our country. But I know I won’t excel in it. (I did coding for 2 weeks and I gave up because I found it really hard).

So I looked into majors and I found industrial engineering and I genuinely want to do this and it fits what I like. I already got into a top college that offers IE and I can opt for it. But in my country (India) IE is really unheard of and the jobs are kind of mid as hell.

See my goal at the end of the day is to do MIM at a top b school in europe right after my bachelors. Like genuinely out of passion for finance and management I want to purse this. I know I would need to work really hard for GMAT and keep my grades up and I will!

My dad is against me taking IE and wants me to go for a safer degree like cse or ece.. but trust me I fr dont think I have the aptitude for those 2.

if you read this far tysm!

My question; What’s the best decision for me rignt now.. take IE and work hard for MIM or… take a “safer“ degree and work hard for MIM?

pls lmk 😞 I don’t wanna make the wrong decision..
