Bitcoin Pizza Day Boss Live Now — Challenge It Every Hour at :21 Until 11:21pm UTC

Bitcoin Pizza Day Boss Live Now — Challenge It Every Hour at :21 Until 11:21pm UTC

It’s Bitcoin Pizza Day, so I released the first calendar boss for Bitcoin Block Wars: a 4-phase Pizza Day boss fight that appears in a special warp zone today only.

The boss appears for 21 minutes every hour on 22 May. Each window opens at :21 past the hour, from 00:21 UTC through the final 23:21 UTC / 11:21pm UTC window.

Bitcoin Block Wars started from a simple idea: what if Bitcoin activity was not just something you watched on a block explorer, but something you could actually play?

The original inspiration was the old DailyBlockchain visualization — watching transactions flow through the Bitcoin network — combined with the arcade chaos of Geometry Wars. I wanted to take that feeling of live Bitcoin movement and turn it into enemies, bosses, pressure, and moment-to-moment survival.

The game is built on top of live mempool.space feeds. Transactions flowing into the mempool help drive the regular enemy stream, while different transaction patterns can influence which bosses become eligible.

Rarer Bitcoin events, block timing, transaction behaviour, and now calendar events can open special warp-zone encounters.

For Bitcoin Pizza Day, that means the chain gets a pizza boss.

It is not just a reskin. It is a proper 4-phase warp boss built around the event.

The basic idea behind Bitcoin Block Wars is:
- live Bitcoin/mempool activity helps drive the game
- transactions become enemy pressure
- unusual transaction patterns can influence boss encounters
- rare Bitcoin events can open warp-zone fights
calendar events like Bitcoin Pizza Day can become limited-time bosses
-the player still has to survive it as an arcade shooter

There is no token, no NFT, and no pay-to-win mechanic.

It is a browser arcade game using Bitcoin activity as part of the gameplay layer.

I’d be interested in feedback from Bitcoin people on whether the live-data connection is clear, and from arcade/shooter players on whether the boss fight reads well at game speed.

Bitcoin Block Wars: Bitcoin Pizza Day boss live today only @ 21 mins past each hour

It’s #BitcoinPizzaDay, and I’ve released the first calendar boss for Bitcoin Block Wars. The game is built around mempool.space feeds :)

For today only, 22 May, there’s a scheduled Pizza Day warp boss encounter. It appears for 21 minutes every hour, starting at 00:21 UTC and repeating through 23:21 UTC.

The boss is a 4-phase pizza fight inside a warp zone, and it’s the first release of the game’s calendar event system. The plan is to use this for more Bitcoin-related scheduled bosses and special encounters over time.

You can challenge it here: https://bitcoinblockwars.com

The game is still in beta, so feedback is very welcome, especially on the boss fight, difficulty, readability, and whether the scheduled event flow feels clear.

Feedback please! What happens when a dust attack on bitcoin wallets is detected

With Bitcoin Block Wars now in public beta, there are a number of bosses which will be spawned when certain types of transactions happen and are detected by the game in the bitcoin mempool. When there's a dust attact-type transaction, this will spawn in infield boss (one of the hardest) which contaminates the playfield.

What do people think?

I built a free Bitcoin-powered arcade shooter — Bitcoin Block Wars

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share something I’ve been working on: Bitcoin Block Wars, a free browser-based arcade shooter

You can play it here: https://bitcoinblockwars.com (works best on a controller)

The basic idea is simple: it’s an arcade shooter where live Bitcoin blockchain data helps shape what happens during each run.

To be clear, this is not:
Play-to-Earn
an NFT project
staking-related
a token launch
a wallet-connection game
pay-to-win

It’s just a game. Dodge, shoot, survive, and challenge the Bitcoin blockchain.

I wanted to use Bitcoin data as a gameplay input, not as a speculative reward layer. There are already enough “crypto games” that are really just token mechanics with a game wrapped around them. I wanted to go the other way and make something playable first.

A bit of background: I’ve spent a long time around games and publishing. I worked for over a decade in the Irish games industry on the publishing side, was Operations Manager of the first Xbox venue in Europe in the mid-2000s, taught business to game developers for several years at Dublin Institute of Technology, now TU Dublin, and published research on the Irish games industry in the early 2010s.

I’ve also been a lifelong gamer, from the Commodore 64 days through the console generations to PS5, Switch, and modern browser/mobile games.

I’d really appreciate feedback on:
browser performance
mobile controls
difficulty balance
whether the Bitcoin-driven events make sense while playing
whether the arcade loop feels fun enough to replay

Disclosure: I’m involved with the project.

Free browser arcade shooter using live Bitcoin blockchain data

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share Bitcoin Block Wars, a free browser-based arcade shooter by Irish game developer SegWit Games.

Bitcoin Block Wars uses live Bitcoin blockchain data to help shape gameplay events and make each run feel different.

To be clear, this is not:

  • Play-to-Earn
  • an NFT project
  • a staking product
  • a token launch
  • a wallet-connection game
  • a pay-to-win mechanic

It is an arcade shooter first: dodge, shoot, survive, and challenge the Bitcoin blockchain.

The project comes from SegWit Games, the internal skunkworks studio launched by Bitcoin Marketing Team. The founder’s background includes more than a decade in the Irish games industry on the publishing side, working as Operations Manager of the first Xbox venue in Europe in the mid-2000s, teaching business to game developers for several years at Dublin Institute of Technology, now TU Dublin, and publishing extensive research on the Irish games industry in the early 2010s.

The goal was to build something playable first, rather than another speculative crypto game.

I’d be interested in feedback on:

  • difficulty
  • browser performance
  • mobile controls
  • whether the Bitcoin-triggered gameplay feels clear
  • whether the arcade loop is fun enough to keep replaying
