Regrets?

Today I signed contracts to trade in my '23 Panigale V2 white beauty for a '26 Streetfighter V2 red devil.

Hopefully my back will love the change even though my heart probably won't.

'Ride like everything's out to get you' !!!!

Anyone seen the state government funded ad for motorcycle safety?

Not sure why this ad pisses me off so much. Maybe it's because it makes me feel like that they think we can't ride at all. Plus I think it's really discouraging for aspiring riders to join the riding community, when it actually might scare them off.

We all know the stats. We all know motorcycle riding is dangerous but do you really have to make an ad that literally says 'everything's out to get you'? Umm no!

F**k off Transport NSW.

Nearly lost the front on a white line.

Been riding for over 30 years and this is the first time this has ever happened to me.

Was stopped in mild traffic and decided to slowly change to the left lane as it was moving faster. As I did this my front tyre went over the broken painted white line and slipped, which was obviously wet. I managed to catch it and only suffered a mild heart attack at the time lol.

For reference my bike was a Honda CB125F (my commuter), it was a foggy morning but the road was dry.

So just wanted to say even though I was riding a small underpowered bike, just be careful of wet painted lines even though the road conditions are dry. Fog can still keep the lines wet for some time, even when moving slowly from a stationary position.

Looking at buying a Scrambler.

I have a V2 Panigale and was looking for a change to the V2 Streetfighter, purely for the riding position, but now the Scrambler has caught my eye.

I've been on a Streetfighter test ride before and loved it but never been on a Scrambler. Dealerships close to me don't seem to have a Scrambler demo to test ride.

Anything I should be aware of apart from the fact that it's a completely different style of Ducati bike and has less HP.

For reference, I already own a custom Honda cafe racer as well, so the style is not a new thing for me.

Alex Marquez returning from neck fracture

Just wondering whenever Alex is fit enough to come back, how his neck will hold up in a race. And I mean that literally.

Just think when he's flying down the main straight and pops his head up from the bubble doing over 350kph, the G forces and body drag on his neck/helmet and don't forget the actual helmet weight as well added on top.

I know that the medical experts have to clear him first, before he can race again but this has got to be a major strain on his neck right? And could it maybe break again from the force...possibly career ending?

Is this a fair price for a 125cc first service at nearly $300?

I recently bought my first brand new tiny Honda CB125F from a Sydney dealer as a commuter bike. With the purchase came a VIP membership of 10% off shop purchases which also included serviced parts and labour. I got the 10% off the parts but as for the labour, well...

1000km came up quite quickly so it was booked in for its first service. Had it done and only to find that $233 was just on labour of a $285 invoice.

I have two other (litre) bikes that are quite costly to service so I'm used to that side of it but I was a little set back seeing a first service for a 125cc bike cost this much, not to mention it needs to be serviced every 6000km.

Not saying that I was ripped off or anything but is this a fair price or should I look elsewhere for servicing, keeping in mind that my warranty is only valid when serviced by a Honda service agent?

I have a custom 2000 Honda CB250 cafe racer which has been heavily modified and looks nothing like the original.

It's been insured with a major insurance company, however it's insured for the market value of the original unmodified bike which is probably a fraction of its value.

This has been on my mind for quite some time because if the bike is ever damaged or stolen that they may decline the claim due to the mods or at best only pay a fraction of what its worth.

Are there any motorcycle insurance companies that insure these modified bikes as the only one I know that maybe can do this is Shannons?
