My vintage 1/32 track

In a dedicated race track room I built this analogue four laner a few years ago. Track length is 22 m. It’s made of vintage Fleischmann and Polistil track parts.
The track contains two banked curves, this allows the cars to enter the 5.5 m long straight with speed and carry that speed into the back straight towards the S/F line. Banked curves are great: you can go fast but not flat out. It takes skill to negotiate them perfectly.
Around the track there’s a gauge 1 railroad with a shunting yard and Marklin Maxi trains, a Lego lighthouse and some vintage track side buildings (Herpa). I love the interaction between cars and trains.
Timing is done with light bridge and sensors, connected to an old laptop - displayed on a large tv screen. Big fun to race on with a group of friends and family!

Midsummer fuel economy

The usual 700 km / 6.5 hour trip trough the Netherlands, Germany and Denmark, mostly autobahn, average speed without speed limits 130-140 km/h. There’s also stretches with speed limit, mostly 100-120 km/h and road work stretches (like Rendsburg bridge and Hamburg Elb tunnel area) where 80 is the limit.
Where in winter I get around 6 to 6.2 l/100 km it’s now way down to 5.7 l/100 km (41 mpg) due to higher temperatures I reckon.
Pretty good for my bone stock 2010 ZF1 with 220K km and original battery (still works fine).
I think the CR-Z likes long roadtrips 😊

I did multiple things

Such a funny coincidence, on a summer evening by the sea - a fellow white CR-Z came by, honked and I could not withstand the opportunity- instantly befriending total strangers with a love for their Honda CR-Z, Civic EK - plus one Lexus joining the spontaneous club.

Honda front and rear

That pickup truck is so huge compared to my petite CR-Z in front and the Civic behind it!
I know nothing about American cars, is that a Dodge ram?

Scandinavia trip

It was a joy, as always. A happy purring white pearl smoothly eating away the many km.
Going 130/140 km/h trough 800 km of Germany, 110 km/h trough 400 km of the Netherlands and mixed 110/130 km/h trough 200 km of Denmark, I managed fuel consumption of 5.8 l/100km (40.5 mpg). The slower 110 km/h stretch trough the Netherlands resulted in 5.5 l/100km (42.75 mpg)
I checked oil after returning home, its still on the max indication- so nothing to add at all. I so love this trustworthy reliable car!

Where my standard cruise speed on a long road trip is 130/140, km/h, resulting in 6 to 6.2 l/100 km, today I settled for a more moderate 110/120 km/h. It does show in the fuel consumption! My trip A automatically resets to zero after refueling.
