Insta360 Luna Ultra - 360 Pano JPG + RAW testing update
This is a follow-up to my two previous posts: (1) with sample 8K 360 panos shot and auto-stitched on the Insta360 Luna Ultra and (2) with the results of my test shooting 360 panos with the Luna mounted on a panohead to see what the camera might be capable of if it could save the individual shots in JPG + RAW for external stitching (this yielded very detailed 28K 360 panos using PTGui).
Update (3) I am happy to report that I have found a way to create 28K 360 panos using the Luna to shoot the photos in Ultra Photo mode using the camera gimbal for row and column positioning. This make it possible to save the individual JPG + RAW files for external stitching. I did this by using the Insta360 app to control the gimbal movements in a row/column pattern and the shutter to shoot at each position. I was able to automate this using a MacroDroid macro. This made it possible to press one button to do the shooting. I am fine tuning the macro and plan to make it available along with usage information. Below is a video showing the camera in action, the 28K version via Kuula and a link to the 8K, 16K and 28K versions and JPG files. RAW sample to follow when I have time.
