Please forgive me as I don’t know what I’m talking about. I have a Meta quest three and I love it. I recently watched a 360 video of a Disney World ride and thought it was amazing. My wife and I have a two year-old, and it would be super cool if I could buy a 360 camera and just put it on a tripod for things like birthdays and Christmas morning and family occasions. Does anyone have any advice for what I should do and what I should buy? Thank you very much in advance.

I bought the Insta360 GO 3 expecting it to live up to its official specs and marketing claims, specifically its IPX8 waterproof rating (up to 5 meters).

I simply took it for a light swim in a standard pool. I didn't dive deep or exceed any operational limits. Right after coming out of the water, the camera completely died and refused to turn back on ever since.

It is completely unacceptable for an action camera marketed as waterproof to fail on its very first basic water exposure. This is a clear manufacturing defect and a complete failure of quality control.

If you are planning to use this camera anywhere near water, do not waste your money. The waterproofing is unreliable, and you risk bricking your device instantly. Extremely disappointed with the product quality.

From September 2025, just left the original audio and pacing as it was.

I have an X5 and a GO Ultra. I only use them as a hobby, not heavily, maybe a few times a week. I know they have different use cases.

I also have an iPhone 17 Pro Max, and I upgrade my iPhone every year. The truth is, I still shoot a lot of my daily content with my iPhone. Editing is faster, I don’t need to transfer files, it’s easier, and my phone is always with me and usually already in my hand.

Anyway, I’m not sure if I should sell both the X5 and GO Ultra and then I’ll get at least €800 for both, and just buy x6, so use one camera instead. I mostly shoot everyday city videos and share them on social media for fun. I’m not an influencer lol.

Sometimes I feel like I don’t really need these cameras because I can already do almost everything with my iPhone. Even though they have different uses, keeping two extra cameras sometimes feels unnecessary. In February I only had the Go Ultra and I thought it was unnecessary so I sold it, and then there were moments when I regretted it, like "oh, I wish I had the Ultra so I could record this and this" I recently bought it again 🥲

Two days ago, I bought the Insta360 clips that let you attach a camera to your bag. Already tried with x5 and it worked well. X6 is more compact, I’m thinking I could wear it and record like the GO Ultra. So maybe I could have some of the functions of both cameras in one device instead of keeping two.

Having two Insta360 cameras just feels a bit too much for me, but I’m really not sure what I should do. I’m open to any ideas or opinions.

Hey, I want to buy a 360 Camera to start taking footage of family outings/holidays etc.. will include things like of hiking/Skiing/Beach/city walks etc...

I don't have massive experience with editing and will do most of that on my phone, so app quality is key for me and from what I've researched this is where the X5 is better.

In England the Osmo360 bundle is £300 & the X5 is £470 for equivalent bundle.

What would you choose and why?

Long story short, I’ve recently purchased a long tail cargo bike that can have both my kids on the back in tandem. I decided I want to capture their reactions as we go for bike rides and intend on uploading reels and clips of the rides onto a dedicated social media account.

For transparency if it goes well then great, if no one likes it then that’s also fine as I will still upload my videos for my own personal record and to share with my family as they would love to see it.

For me I want good quality content and also very hands off easy editing to make the reels, and it seems the x6 has the upgraded AI editing capabilities (over the x5) to allow for very easy clips and reels to be made from my content. If the new X6 much better and easier for the AI editing than the X5 or is that just promotional chat and not much real world difference? Similar question about quality difference?

Keen to hear your thoughts since I’m very new to this, and wondering if it’s worth the extra £300 upgrade over the X5!

Should I be considering any other options also that meet my criteria? Needs to be 360 so that if the boys are looking and pointing to a car or something it can hopefully capture that in the reels!

I've been going back and forth on getting a 360 camera for a while now. idea sounds awesome. Just hit record, enjoy the moment, and figure out the framing later. but I'm also wondering if I'm just convincing myself I need another camera lol.

rn I mostly use my phone and an action camera for trips, but there are always those clips where I get home and realize I pointed the camera the wrong way or missed something happening off to the side.

That's basically what got me looking at the Osmo 360. I like the idea of having something I can just throw in my bag and use when I don't want to think about filming.

For people who actually own a 360 camera, do you find yourself using it a lot or does it end up sitting in a drawer after the first few weeks?

I'm in Los Angeles and delivery states Monday August 17th. None of my local warehouses show it in stock. I had purchased the Best Buy bundle which include an extra Extreme battery, what looks to be selfie stick 1.0, and the battery charging case. $769

The quick-release shown in the Costco bundle is not the newer one that Insta360 has on their website.

I have done about 10 raw footage comparison videos to help me see the differences in these three cameras. This is not a "once size fits all." For folks who only shoot in bright indoor light, X5 seems great enough, but for areas where glare are bright sun is common, less glare on the X6 and you can see the sky instead of a "white blob" on the X5.

I noticed on this one that the cars that drive by are sharp and in focus on the Osmo, but blurry on the Insta360s. This could be artifacts of PureVideo mode, but the Osmo was in their equivalent and seems to handle it much better. Any ideas on what this is?
