Augmented sixths are evil
The last oboe note in bar 7 has been mandated to function as a seventh, not a third, and the following bars have been adjusted accordingly. Henceforth it shall be known as "Brahms Piano Concerto in D minor that somehow becomes Eb minor during the exposition of the first movement"
To 45GX950B or not to 45GX950B...
... that is the question.
Or specifically, if I should go for that instead of the G9 Neo. I've been back-and-forth-ing for months lol.
I'm currently on a cheapo 34" MSI ultrawide, with a random 27" vertical side monitor that is only hooked up to the job laptop.
My motivation for the upgrade is more screen real estate, and to reduce to only one monitor. The latter partially for desk tidyness, but also because single monitor is more flexible and intuitive on Hyprland/tiling window managers.
My usecases are productivity, content consumption and some gaming, though not really graphically intensive. Think Factorio. I'm not super graphically motivated in general, though it is obviously nice when there is an upgrade.
What speaks for the G9 neo is really work. Ideally I want my wiiiide spreadsheet, email, teams, phone and a flexible document spot to be visible at all times. Stupid systems require so much manual checking back and forth, so multiple desktops are impractical.
But the LG45 has a better form factor for my private use, which is less hungry for width. Also I'm worrying about buying into old tech, especially when the G9 carries a 25% premium compared to the LG where I'm at. But also I'm worried about OLED.... and so on.
So, for some actual questions:
-LG peeps, how much crap can you stack on that screen realistically? Is double-stacking documents vertically practical from a reading perspective?
-G9 peeps, how do you view the longevity of your screen, or are there rumours of a new version some time?
- I have heard the Good News about the upcoming Dell. But is 39 reeeally that much of an upgrade from 34 from a pure screen real estate perspective? Especially considering it means losing the 27"... I do like the KVM though. Managing with a USB switch atm.
Financially I can afford anything I like, only at the cost of other similarly irresponsible purchases. But the G9 is like... nearly 0,5 new bicycles, and I always want more of those. Also I'm stingy with purchases that upgrade rather than add new features/capabilities to my life.
/ramble.
It is nice when niche parts of classical music like conducting gets mainstream attention...
Just wait until you get to the 6/8 pattern, or goodness forbid a slow 12\8 ala the opening of firebird...
