What if…

What if…

Rhaenyra envisions herself as Daenerys. It’s a small prediction of mine that Rhaenyra will receive her first and only dragon dream before she’s killed by Sunfyre. In this vision, she sees a a female figure walking out unscathed out fire.

In the show, she’s already convinced that she’s the prince that was promised, so she believes this vision is about herself as well. She walks in front up to Sunfyre convinced she’ll not be harmed, just to die engulfed in flames.

Pure Aura from these Two

I really enjoyed episode 2, showcasing the fighting skills of Daemon and Aemond in the SAME EPISODE. It really gives the viewers a sense that not only are they the best dragon riders for their respective sides, but also that they're forces to be reckoned with on foot. This does more so for Aemond, as it's been a while since we've seen his martial skills.

Also nicely hypes up the idea that they'll eventually meet and fight (one thing that I like about this show is fleshing out).

Butterflies

I really did enjoy this episode and how they incorporated Rhaena being the reason for Jace’s death, having the Triarchy’s involvement be more vendetta-oriented than based on logic (no one with enough sense would face multiple dragons), and HOT TAKE, sending the dragonseeds away to make the battle have more tension.

However… much of the potential tension was lost with the exclusion of Aegon younger and his brother Viserys. An interpretation from the books/old GOT episode extras is Jace dies trying to protect his brothers when they’re intercepted by the Triarchy, while baby Aegon flies with Stormcloud. However, seeing as Joffrey, Aegon younger and Viserys were aged down, along with his dragon’s size, it made it logically harder to have him escape, as well as more technically difficult for any infant to act.

Could this change in ages have also been a catalyst that caused them to scrap Nettles’ story of slowly taming Sheep Stealer for Rhaena suddenly pairing with it and urgently riding into battle to prove herself? An infamous “Butterfly” as G R R Martin might suggest?
