Huge St Paul and Roseville police presence

Rice street and Arlington, up to rice and roselawn, all the way east to 35E. Anyone know what’s going on? Can’t remember seeing that many squad cars blocking off that large of a swath of roads and neighborhoods. Hope everyone is ok

Safest way to remove part of brick wall/enclosure

Brick enclosure was originally built around a steel fuel oil tank. I’d like to remove the bricks from the outside edge to where my finger is pointing. Currently the gap between where that wall ends, and the foundation wall is 22”. I’d like to be able to move around it with laundry baskets easier. Partner wants to make the space into a bar, putting the counter top on top of the remaining brick enclosure. I have a lump hammer and a few masonry chisels at my disposal. I have never done a demo with brick that the end goal was to keep some of the brick structure intact, only complete tear downs

Going camping in Jay Cooke state park end of July

Bringing up some friends who haven’t kayaked much or at all before. Is Thompson reservoir safe for 3-4 people with little or no experience? I’m an avid kayaker but want to keep them safe, but I’ve never kayaked the reservoir. Spirit lake is also an option but the reservoir seems to be a more interesting float. Also open to suggestions!

Looking to upgrade from perception Carolina 14,5

Looking to upgrade. Not planning on getting rid of my Carolina 14.5, but I’ve been doing more weekend camping trips, some portages, and thinking that something 2-3’ longer would offer more storage, and hopefully maybe lighter weight. I’m located in central MN, so my options are REI, dicks sporting goods, bass pro shops, all of which thus far seem to only carry recreational and fishing kayaks. I’ve been looking at the used market, which has been somewhat lackluster with the budget of around $3000. Are there any brands, or specific models that anybody would recommend?

My partner and I have had our “new to us” re-homed hog nose for about 5 weeks now. We added new hog nose friendly substrate to her enclosure, she tunneled around it for a few days, but three days ago she has burrowed in and hasn’t come back out. Is that normal/common? She was fed a week ago today, has plenty of water, heat from lamp, etc.

Probably a stupid question. I have 25 year old plus kayak paddles (both my perception carolinas are the same age), the paddles are a touch heavy but still 100% work. They were entry level paddles when new. I’m sure newer ones are more efficient. I don’t beat the crap out of my existing paddles, I haven’t needed to portage them or the yaks when camping. Is there a real benefit to replacing them with something more modern?
