I’m confused about why Rhaenyra denied Corlys’ request to legitimize his bastards. At this point, isn’t Joffrey the only child left from her first marriage to Laenor? He’s now the heir to the Iron Throne, so he can’t inherit Velaryon lands and titles. So what does she have to lose by giving Corlys heirs after Jace’s and Luke’s deaths? Her children with Daemon have no claim to a Velaryon inheritance. The only argument that makes sense to me is if she thinks that Baela or Rhaena should be Corlys’ heirs first. (FYI I’ve read the books but I’m rusty on some of the details.)
