I recall, in the last ten years, listening to a talk by some male game developer (perhaps at GDC or some other convention?), where he related an anecdote from his childhood. He remembers playing Tetris and finding the game really difficult, only ever managing to clear a handful of lines. He particularly hated the T block because he could never get it to fit. It was only later on in his childhood that he watched someone else play Tetris, that he said "Wait, you can rotate the pieces?!".
