Why do people more often recommend “just Firefox” instead of forks like Waterfox or LibreWolf? Any real downsides to using forks?

I’ve noticed that when people ask for what’s the best browser, etc, the recommendation (in addition to other usual suspects like Brave, Safari or what not) is usually “just use Firefox” and its forks (Waterfox, LibreWolf, Mull, etc.) are more rarely mentioned.

What are the main reasons behind that? Is it mostly about trust and update speed, or are there concrete technical or practical downsides to using forks instead of mainline Firefox?

33[M4F] Singapore/online - looking for a kindred spirit who appreciates a good story and great meal

Hey! Giving this a go after seeing a few posts pop up on my feed.

A bit about me: I’m a lifelong reader and generally a sucker for a good story in any form, whether it’s books, films, TV, video games, doesn’t matter. Currently trying my hand at writing my own book too, which has taught me a lot about how much harder it is than reading one.

Outside of that, I’m also keen on hunting for new places to eat, as well as a bit of shopping though mostly for the wander more than the buying.

Looking for someone communicative who values genuine conversation to talk stories with and/or grab a coffee together with, and see if it hopefully leads to something more. Preferably in Singapore or countries close by, but open to further if you’re not bothered by the time zone gap.

Please tell me a bit about yourself, or perhaps mention the last book or film that really stuck with you.
