Dating is rough

Sorry I just need to vent.

I (38M) have been dating a bunch since my divorce early this year. I've actually found it not too difficult to get dates, but omg am I finding that women have no idea what they want! I keep getting these 6 to 8 week relationships that end because she's either too busy or not ready for a long term relationship.

Like, girl, you're on a dating app with looking for long term relationship set. I've even started asking on the first or second date "are you actually looking for long term" and they all say yes.

I'm just tired of getting emotionally invested right at the point they leave for some BS reason. It sucks, guys.

Pain moving around/getting worse?

Hey all, my 2 years of hip pain was finally determined to be a labral tear due to hip impingement. After trying everything and spending a fortune on PT, it's looking like I'm gonna have surgery but here's my question: did your pain slowly spread over time?

When the pain started two years ago after a hiking injury, I only felt the pain in my right knee.

Six months later, I started feeling it in the front and side of my hip, as well as sitbone pain - all on the right side.

A year later, I started feeling pain in my LEFT hip.

And just this week, my low back started hurting like hell on both the left and right side.

I'm assuming these are all compensation injuries but I'm nervous going into surgery to fix the original problem, only to still struggle with the rest of the pain afterwards. Did anyone experience something similar?

First Time Post-Divorce Getting Dumped

Just got dumped today for the first time since the divorce. We were only together a little over a month. Should be no big deal, right? Well damn did it ever rip open the rejection wound from divorce! Probably dating two months post-divorce is too soon.

Not sure what I'm looking for here other than some encouragement. Post-divorce, all I can think about is finding another companion but after this breakup I don't know how I can keep putting myself out there and opening myself up to this.

Dating Frequency?

Just starting to date again after a 15 year marriage. Dating is very much not what I remember lol. I only just started but the couple dates I've had really seemed quite busy and like she could only go out once every two weeks. I get it, both were single moms who work full time - I'm also a single dad, so time with kids > dating. But what's a normal frequency for dating in your early 40s? In my 20s, it was 2 or sometimes 3 dates a week. Obviously different phase of life now, but I'm just not sure what my new expectations should be.

Physical Health Wrecked from Divorce?

My divorce was finalized this past week (no, not celebrating). While the divorce process only took 69 days, the past 11 months have been hard on me physically. Like real hard.

Lost nearly 20% of my body weight (didn't have much to lose, now underweight), my gallbladder appears to have crapped out, chronic nausea, iron and B12 deficiency, possible autoimmune issue, plus an unrelated hip/knee injury from a hike that won't heal.

Anyone else just get absolutely wrecked physically from the divorce process? How long did it take for you to recover? Or did you even recover?

Honestly I could use some encouragement right about now.

First Date in 15 Years

So yesterday I went on a date for the first time in 15 years. And it was terrifying lol but also good. However it was very different from how I remember.

I remember dating in my early 20s, horny as hell, the thrill of the chase - it was exhilarating. Now as I near 40, I found dating feels completely different. I had a really good chat with a very attractive women, lots of laughing and vibed well. I genuinely enjoyed our 2 hour coffee date together and hope to see her again. But there wasn't this drive to "win" or rush things. I guess I'm just saying back in the day I felt so much pressure to escalate things, to move fast, to get that first kiss (or a bit more).

Is this normal? Is that how dating is supposed to feel at this age? Or is this a sign that maybe I'm not ready? I don't wanna read into it too much but curious what other guys have experienced when entering the dating world again.
