This isn't so much a hot take, rather a greivance I have. I hate seeing people say To Catch a Predator "entrapped" people. I don't think any normal adult can be convinced by a CHILD to do anything sexual. Honestly, I'll even go a step above and say in cases where amateur sting dudes pull off operations and message first, it's still flat wrong.

I get entrapment is a legal defense to get people to do things they normally wouldn't. I don't think it works so much when an adult messages a child. Whether or not they initiate first contact is out the window. If it's a real child, they'll get in trouble for assaulting them. If it's a fake child, they'll claim entrapment and get off scot free.

Entrapment is such a stupid defense to give these guys. ANYONE who messages a child inappropriately or sexually, whether first contact or not, is a predator and a groomer. There are ZERO excuses. Thank you for listing to my Pred Talk. Gentlemen, have a good thread.
