2020 Ambient temperature sensor

I have a faulty ambient temperature sensor that I am attempting to replace. I have accessed it but how do I unclip the old ambient temperature sensor so I can insert the new one?

You can probably see where I have scratched the housing with a screwdriver trying to get that little tab to release but I'm afraid I'm doing it wrong and/or will break it. Any tips to release the old one so I can insert the new one?

Ambient Temperature Sensor TSB?

I have a 2020 CX5 and lately it has been showing anywhere from -10° to the correct outside temperature which affects temperature inside the cabin. After investigation, I found that a TSB was issued for Mazdas as this is a known issue.

I called the dealership to see if my vehicle was covered and they said I would need to bring it in for diagnostics and that alone would be $200. Is that standard procedure with these? When I did the P0126 error, I didn't have to pay anything but maybe that was a different scenario or bulletin.
