Has anyone switched from a Thor to a Steam Deck/ROG Ally?
Ordered a Batch 3 1TB Max in late February, received it in mid April, and I have genuinely enjoyed tinkering with it and gaming on it. Maybe I loved tinkering a little too much.
I originally bought it because I wanted to replay Pokémon DS and 3DS titles. Ironically, once I realized how capable the hardware is, I ended up spending almost all my time playing Steam games through GameNative instead. I haven’t really gone back to older Nintendo systems (not even the Switch titles).
Because of that, I rarely use the second screen if at all. It has made me wonder whether a clamshell is still the right form factor for my current gaming habits, or whether I’d be happier with a more traditional slate handheld.
I really don’t regret buying it though. The hardware has honestly exceeded my expectations and made me realize that I spend 95% of my time playing Steam games through GameNative rather than any DS/3DS titles. I’m now wondering whether I’d be happier with a slate handheld like the Steam Deck, ROG Ally X, Odin 2 Portal Max or something similar.
Has anyone here made a similar switch? If so, what did you move to and do you regret it?
The Witcher 3 - Switch / Eden: Weird quick death bug
Hi guys, has anyone experienced this bug before? I've been playing with an infinite HP mod and had zero issues until I picked up a Witcher contract in Skelige.
Suddenly I lost the ability to climb on ladders or hop on boats and noticed something was happening, so I turned off the mod and suddenly I die in 2-3 seconds right after loading my last save point without being able to open the menu at all. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've tried everything - White Honey, Golden Oriole, Quen (in case the bug was infinite toxicity or something similar) but nothing fixed it. I read elsewhere that my final and "best option" is to try and repair my Switch save through my Steam copy. Not sure how feasible that is but I'm almost done with Skelige and my last save where everything worked fine is in the early missions, which would wipe 80% of my progress.
Another option is adding a "No ToxiCity" mod for Witcher 3 Switch 4.04a/4.04b version which I haven't tried yet in case anyone here has experienced or solved this. Thank you for reading and hopefully helping me salvage my save!
