Continue with pixels or switch to fairphone?

My last 3 phones have been pixel phones. Most recent one is Pixel 6a. The reason I've switched phone every time is because of battery issues.

Once again, my Pixel 6a is still holding on well in term of performance, but the battery doesn't even hold half day. Changing batteries, I was quoted €120 and with €180 I can get a new Pixel 6a, so changing batteries makes no sense.

I love the pixels, especially being barebone and having amazing cameras, but I'm thinking of switching to Fairphone simply for avoiding the battery issue. Am I alone in this battery saga?

Life insurance

I'm in my 40s and recently had a colleague die from heart attack. I realized that if something happened to me, it would be tough on my family as I bring in 70% of the home income and have two young kids.

I started looking for life insurance but it gets so complicated and easily explodes. Is it life or term? Do you add disability? How about cancer and heart attacks and things? How about health insurance in case you/your family need something GESY does not cover? Which company? What coverage? How about your wife?

I'm so overwhelmed and adding bits and pieces easily skyrockets the price. Also, insurance agents are not at the top of my list in terms of trust -- they have a tangible benefit in selling me more products.

AI has actually helped me narrow down a few things. E.g., these are covered by this product so having the other product only adds these, etc.

My father lost his life insurance during the 2013 crash so he is pissed at insurance companies and my father in law is strictly anti-insurance (he wouldn't insure his car if he could). Friends are a mixed bunch, with most of them randomly selecting a product based on a 'friend's suggestion '.

Don't know, simply venting here.

We are a research lab and have developed a very practical but ugly Android app. Never thought of actually making it nicer.

I thought of asking PPLX for some ideas to add a logo or make it nicer. PPLX told me, this can be handled better by computer, want to? I said why not.

15 minutes and 1400 credits later, it did a full rebranding of my app. Brand strategy, logos with variants (full colour, light, dark, monochrome), palette, typography, app icon, hero artwork and screen redesigns, and step-by-step update instructions along with acceptance checklist.

Passed the zip file to Claude Code and said 'Do it'. Damn, it looks beautiful. Polished, not bloated, perfect. Functionality the same, just now I'm not disgusted opening the app 🤣
