Help me try different hotels and abandon my beloved French Quarter?
I mean I won’t need too much convincing but here is the situation: BFF and I live across the ocean from each other. Once a year (at least) we enable each other into a 10 day Disney trip.
We just got back from this year’s trip and to combat the post-Disney blues we’re planning for next year and we’re thinking of going Deluxe for the first time. Here are our thoughts on hotels so far:
French Quarter is our favorite resort. It’s quiet, the buses are not usually packed and they do tend to have more adults than some of the other resorts.
Riverside is okay but between the two we rather spend a bit more and have less packed buses and a shorter walk to the bus stop at FQ.
We’ve done all star movies in the past for a night or two here and there and honestly it’s too much for us. Too many people, the buses are horrible to get on, it’s just not the vacation vibes we’re looking for.
While we were on property we visited the Swan & the Dolphin and while the hotel itself seemed fine, we hated the journey to get to MK, having to take the monorail back to TTC is a big no for us.
But we’re not rich and for our dates the two deluxe resorts within our budget seem to be Animal Kingdom Lodge and Wilderness Lodge.
Again we have never stayed in a deluxe resorts before and we really care about ease of transportation and not being stressed about having to wait for multiple buses. But we’re also a little afraid of spending more money and being disappointed/sad we’re not back at FQ.
I’d love to hear from folks who have stayed at FQ before and then either at AKL or WL and how they compare and how they felt for you. Also if I’m missing another deluxe we should be looking into.
Thank you!
