[Macos Dev beta 2] A weird bug I stumbled upon. (Already reported it)

Clicking any of those buttons triggers it.

I have a x86 tablet that is passive cooled, which is the best system?

I tried to run BlissOS but the damn thing refuses to run for more than a few minutes. It says phone got too hot and shutsdown. The system run surprisingly smooth so I think Android is the best system to run on it.

So I want to try other options, what other x86 Android systems that are still supported.

Or if you have a fix to make the system ignore the thermal sensor, I'd appreciate it since I cannot anything about this online.

Could the web ever be reinvented?

I'm speaking specifically about the frontend. Everything in a webapp/website comes down to HTML, CSS and JS no matter the framework or the language the app was written in.

But what if we had a true web 2.0, something different entirely. A different styling engine, a modern safer scripting language, a declarative UI? Like ditch the entire html, css and js stack.

This could cause browser to get written from scratch with better standards and more memory safe languages than cpp such as Rust. And avoids memory hogging like how chrome does.

As for HTTP, APIs, etc... stay the same since they're fine as is. But to as also not break existing apps.

I've had this question in my mind for ages, could we ever move from the current internet?

Why is my hair like this? Last 2 pics are after a single day.

I initially thought my hair was straight, now I don't even know what kind of hair I have. It doesn't seem straight nor wavy. I don't even think I could call it curly. I'm starting to give up on growing my hair, I'm contemplating whether I should get a haircut.

My hair routine is as follows:

  • Shampoo once (since I do this routine 3 to 4 times a week)
  • conditioner (scrunch and wait about 3 min)
  • sea salt spray (4 times, use vented brush to spread it on the scalp)
  • medium heat how dry.

I used to use American crew hair clay, but it seems to make my hair look worse at this length.

How is your phone doing in terms of battery life?

Mines identical to before, the first two bars are on wifi. The rest is using mobile data. The near 300% bar is the day I updated.

My Mac is consuming too much data and I don't know what's exactly consuming it.

I basically only coded for a few hours in RustRover, listen to music on Spotify (already downloaded playlist) and some light internet browsing (Google, GitHub, Docs...).

I already have the latest update so no update was downloading.

Is there anyway to track internet usage? Activity monitor doesn't show anything that would help identify the problem.

Freelancers! How do you prepare to develop a project for a client?

Context: Last year I got my first big client. I'm not gonna get into too much details but it was a platform to manage a specific sport. We agreed on a payment plan of $1500, split by phases. The problem was the project scope was changing too much, and got bigger than I could handle (such as adding more target audiences, and becoming a multi-sided platform). Eventually the client ghosted me after 80% of project is done (about 75K LoC and 550 Hrs with very minimal AI usage) and I took too long to get to that point (I got paid at least). I 100% believe it was my fault for the result especially with me being too busy with college.

The client didn't seem to have a clear idea of what he wants, and I believe I should have asked him better and clearer questions. After a while, whenever I asked some details about a feature or something, he'd always send a clearly AI generated response with features contradicting what he sent before.

My questions are, how do you plan and prepare for a project? How long until you start writing your first line of code? Do you include a UI mockup/design phase or skip right to coding (because I did a Figma design first)?

I thought of asking AI this, but I'd rather get an answer from an experienced developer or freelancer.

Since I'm in college I don't do lots of freelance projects. But every time I find a client it's always a web app. Where can someone find mobile dev gigs?
