Guys, I applied for the TCS NQT drive today (June 27). About how long do I have before the exam? What should I focus on the most?
I'm from a Chemical Engineering background. I've learned Python and recently started DSA. I haven't done any Python projects yet, although I have a couple of ideas.
How should I proceed from here? Which DSA topics should I focus on first, and when should I start building projects? I'm aiming for TCS Prime at least. Is that realistic?
Would really appreciate any advice from people who've been through the process. Thanks! 🙏

I'm entering 4th year in Chemical Engineering at a Tier 2 college. I joined mainly because of its placement reputation, but our department's placements are honestly cooked. Last year only 3 core companies came, and there weren't many IT companies open to our branch either. Our placement coordinator literally told us core placements are poor.
So I decided to switch my focus to IT. I've completed Python, started DSA recently (currently doing Arrays), and man... I'm getting humbled. I feel so behind compared to CSE/IT students. I also know SQL and plan to build a couple of Python projects.
Campus placements are starting soon, and I'll also be applying off-campus through LinkedIn and company career pages.
If you were in my shoes, what would you prioritize over the next 4–6 months? Is it realistic to aim for a decent IT role (around 6–10 LPA), or should I lower my expectations? Any advice from people who switched from a non-CS branch would really help.
For core companies and major IT companies
I'm a final-year (2027 batch) Chemical Engineering student from a TCS Priority college. My college was supposed to reopen around 22nd June, but in the 3rd week of May, the placement cell shared a TCS registration form. I was away for my internship and completely missed it.
The email mentioned "TCS Priority Institution National Qualifier Test (NQT) for the 2027 graduating batch" and asked the college to submit the final list of eligible students by a deadline. It didn't mention Ninja, Digital, or Prime anywhere.
My questions are:
Was this registration meant for Ninja, Digital, and Prime together, with the category decided later based on NQT/interview performance?
Or was it only for one specific category?
Since I missed this registration, is there usually another TCS hiring cycle later in the placement season for campus students?
Has anyone from a TCS Priority Institute experienced missing the first registration and still getting another chance later?
I'd especially appreciate replies from students who went through the 2025 or 2026 TCS campus hiring process.
Don't need Yamal, raphinia I think even Mbappe, Son and Haaland doing pretty good for me. Also no need for Aimar as Cruyff is Goated even now. What should I do? Wait for Serie A? Will any defender come on week 5?
