Finished Homeland: First time Reader

Just for a little background information, I'm not a D&D player. Honestly, I don't know anything about it. I've just heard about this series through the fantasy grapevine. I heard a lot about this being a starter fantasy series and pretty basic, but I was really interested in the premise.

I finished reading Homeland yesterday and I have to say that I really love the character of Drizzt. I really found myself connected to him and seeing a lot of my own personality traits in him. (Other than being a drow and being a proficient dual wielding master) I really felt Drizzt's struggle with finding himself, who he is and what he stands for, how he fits in with his family, and his urge for companionship. He grew up in a horrible world which did not care about him one bit, even his own flesh and blood (especially them). I really loved the dynamics with Zak and finding some kind of male figure in his life to look up to as I have had this same kind of thing in my own life. Also, finding true companionship in Guenhwyvar warmed my heart as I have always had a strong connection with animals. Seeing Drizzt's constant struggle and fight within himself to hold to his morals and not change who he is based on his surroundings is a really admirable trait. I think it provides very important lessons for people to learn about their own lives and how society will try to change you to fit their mold rather than you finding your own path. Especially in our current age of social media and cancel culture for not conforming to everyone else's beliefs.

In a society where there is darkness, chaos, mayhem, death, sadness, and a struggle to wake up and get out of bed each day, we move forward believing in ourselves and what we stand for. We look for even the smallest flash of light within the darkness and forge our path to find who we are, stick to our own morals and humanity no matter what social pressures tell us, and find meaning in our lives and the world we live in.

"Do more than survive, my son, as I have survived. Live! Be true to the callings in your heart."

Complete Beginner Just Looking for Simple Answer for CD Stereo System

Hello,

I am just beginning a journey of getting back into physical music media and just wanted a good place to start for a CD stereo system. I feel like anytime I try to get information its always looking down on budget choices and I have no idea how to navigate the used market for all this stuff. I really want something easy and with decent audio to get started for a small budget.

I mainly listen to rock/metal music to give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

Thank you!

Need New Rock/Metal Music that doesn't just sound the same with every song.

I really want to expand my music taste and find some new music to listen to. I've primarily been more of a singles listener and not so much albums as I find a lot of album songs to be filler and doesn't really stand out. I would like to change that so send me any ideas for rock, metal, alternative, anything around that area. Hopefully I can go down a rabbit hole of new stuff to go through.

Thank you!

History/Non-Fiction Books Available on Kindle Unlimited

Hello,

I am someone who primarily reads fiction and has barely jumped into anything non-fiction. I do enjoy learning about history but have not really read any books.

I would love to see if you all had recommendations of history books, biographies, etc., about really any topic. I think it would be fun to read about things I've never seen or heard about before. Though I will take suggestions on very popular topics as well as I want to broaden the types of things I read.

I would prefer if the books are on Kindke Unlimited as I am tight on funds to buy new books, but if it's not and you really want to recommend it, please feel free!

Thank you!
