Front Crawl Drills

Hi! I used to be a really good swimmer, but for a variety of reasons I haven’t done much over the last 10 years. I am getting back to it now, and go to the pool a couple of times a week and I LOVE it. My cardio fitness is terrible, but I can do a few lengths of back stroke before I need to take a rest, and the pool I go to is super quiet so I’m not in anyone’s way.

I used to rock the front crawl. It was my favourite stroke, and I could zoom along nicely. Not athlete level, but pretty good. Now that I’m more comfortable in the water again, I would like to get back to being able to front crawl.

I have tried swimming widths when the pool is empty, but I just don’t breathe. I have also tried holding on to the edge, kicking, and bobbing my head up and down in the water to get used to the breathing as I vaguely remember doing this in classes as a kid.

This seems to be helping, but I’m here now asking for advice - is there anything else I could be doing to improve?

The world building is fantastic, characters are well thought out - it’s the first in a series and I can’t wait for the next one!
Has anyone else read it? I haven’t heard much buzz about it, but is the first new fantasy novel I’ve read in a really long time that had me totally engrossed from the very start. Got it last year and have already re-read it a couple of times, and am planning another go around on the beach next week.

Hi! Can anyone recommend an online resource for gym workouts for people with PsA?

Context - I was diagnosed last year in the throes of my first flare, and have been pretty immobile for the last 1.5ish years. With methotrexate, sulfasalazen, steroids, anti inflammatories and a clinical trial for a new biologic (Sonelokimab), I finally feel some relief and can move around again. I am starting back going to the gym and pilates. I’m overweight, and want to gain some strength back, but I don’t want to injure myself…

I have seen how much longer it takes even minor things to heal since I’ve been on methotrexate so i really don’t want to risk any bigger injuries. I’m trying to get a physio appointment but apparently they are pet hard to come by right now form physios with experience with PsA.

I would be super grateful for any recommendations!
