Looking for books that span over a character’s life

I love sad. Fictional sad is even better, but I have come to realize I really really enjoy books that kinda just is a story about a characters life from a point to maybe their death or a future date.

Some examples are The Heart’s Invisible Furies, Kite Runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, One Day, Normal People?, A Little Life, and Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow are a few examples of this. Would love to find more books like this! Doesn’t necessarily need to be sad but I find it already sad to have to finish reading about the character’s journey and detach from them

is there anything I can do to improve when my desk isn’t against a wall?

My room layout has forced me to just put my desk in the middle against the wall, so it looks not as good for that purpose. The other option was to face my desk at my window but im not a huge fan of that. Anything else I could do to improve besides finding a new room layout lol
