Hi all, I'm a 19yo compsci highschool student with no one to hang out with and its getting to me quite a bit. I've decided to try my best to find people to hang out with so I guess I'll start here. I'm into alternative music (punk and post hardcore) and I've recently been getting into board games and comics. I'm incredibly meek at first glance but can get very eccentric around people I feel comfortable with. I speak english and serbian, I understand slovene but I'd probably have a hard time exclusively communicating in it. If anyone would be down to do something in the near future that'd be great

Hi all, I'm a 3rd year highschool student, I study compsci. It's something I thought would be fun to get into since I've been very interested in computers as a kid (like most boys my age, really)
But in recent times, I've been feeling completely turned off from it due to several factors. One, the oversaturated job market. I've heard genuine horror stories about people looking for employment in this field of work. Secondly, very bad burnout. I've come to the point where nothing about computers excites me. Any spec talk bores me out of my mind, and programming is kicking my ass hard. Not to mention I haven't booted my PC up in ages, I do basically everything on my laptop now. Third and most importantly, AI. I'm a vehement hater of AI and it seems like the field is damn near centred around it now. It's not something I want to be involved in whatsoever.
I thought for a while about what I'd prefer to do, and not much came to mind, so I stuck with compsci for a while. But about a year and a bit ago, I've started becoming very interested in music and audio/video hardware. Learning about mixers, speakers, acoustics, effect pedals and amplifiers gives me the same joy learning about computers did back then, but these were tangible, physical things now. So I thought pursuing media studies or even electrotechnics could be a better plan, but I'm worried about stability and media and the physics part of electrotechnics. Let me know if you have any thoughts on the matter
